THE INCREDIBLE STRAP-ON HELICOPTER

John Wiltbank

Please note: This page is a hypothetical advertisement for the MEG-2XH. The vehicle it describes has been built as a prototype, but never really flown and tested. The "Specs" are theoretical at best. I believe the designer, Eugene Gluhareff, (now dead) to be great inventor, and his design to be sound. If you are interested in making the Strap-On Helicopter dream a reality, contact me.

Welcome to the Homepage of the MEG in 2003! I hope to help make this type of Personal Air Travel a reality by 2005.

MEG-2XH Helicopter Offers True Convenience

--No License Needed!
--No Runway (take off right from your driveway!)
--Extremely Safe
--Very Affordable
--Small Size
--Exhilarating Flight Experience!

The Design

The MEG-2XH is a jet-helicopter manufactured by Pro Power. It is powered by two G8-2-20 jet engines mounted on the tips of the rotor. The MEG-2XH can be used to land in places not accessible to traditional helicopters in search and rescue missions, etc., but also is useful for personal transportation and recreational use. Because of the "direct propulsion" system of jet engines, there is no back-torque. The MEG-2XH thus has no need for a tail rotor. This greatly simplifies the design, which is one of the reasons why it is so amazingly inexpensive!

The pilot is comfortably secured in a parachute-like harness. In flight he can steer the helicopter forward, backward, sideward, vertically, and hover. Of course it will take off and land vertically, and for landing gear it has a roughly parabolic-shaped metal stand. The pilot can add his own pontoons or wheels, if desired.

The G8-2-20 engines are extremely durable, high-quality, and have no moving parts. Combined, the two engines produce a maximum of 47 lbs. of thrust. They start at the push of a button when motionless, and throttle upward to maximum throttle smoothly. Best of all, they may be stopped and promptly re-started at will, while in motion! That basically eliminates ANY risk of engine-related crashes. Also, the weight of the engines at the ends of the rotor blades produces a "flywheel" effect, meaning the rotor will continue rotating and lower the craft gently to the ground, even with the engines shut off! They run on common and inexpensive propane, and produce a non-toxic, environmentally friendly exhaust (consisting of steam and carbon dioxide). They are also light-weight at eight lbs. each, and are relatively quiet running.

Falling well within the range of the ultralight aircraft category (empty, it weighs 85 lbs!), there is no license of any kind required to fly it. Legally, you could fly it as soon as it arrives on your doorstep; just add fuel. However, it is a good idea to get flight training so you actually know how to operate your aircraft skillfully and safely.

This is an amazing machine!! I hope by now you're starting to feel the same way. For $11,200 you might be able to buy a cheap new car, like a Hyundai or Kia, but it would be, well, cheap. There's nothing very exciting about a car anyway, because no matter what kind you get, you're still stuck in the same traffic jam every day. Break free from the asphalt, to where only the geese honk at you. If your commute is less than 37 miles, you could even fly to work every day. Think of it! The possibilities are really endless. I would venture to say you could make quite a bit of cash on the side providing services to tank and equipment removal companies, or aerial photography, or whatever you can dream up!

You can have your own personal aircraft; one that needs no runway, no license, no hassles, and that can be kept in the garage. Have some excitement! Come test-fly this! The time has come for the next generation of transportation, and the next generation of transportation is on sale RIGHT NOW! In fact, you can now order it online--click here!

Can you imagine how exciting it would be to have this arrive on your doorstep?

You'll make a spectacular entrance anywhere you travel to--can you imagine the people's faces in the Walmart parking lot as you descend from the sky?
