Pictures of the historical forerunners of the MEG-2XHThe MEG-1X powered by one 25 lb. thrust engine at the end of a single rotor blade. A counterweight at the end of a short shaft balanced the rotor. The overhead cable went up to a pulley on a pole, with a weight hanging on the other end to prevent slack in the cable. The arrangement was for training, to enhance safety.
