| Here's how the body, neck, and tailpiece will be joined. That's an oak 1"x3" (I'll call it a "spine") going in a hole in one side of the pan and out another on the opposite side. I'll run some screws through the bottom of the pan into the oak. And I'll attach the neck and a bit of wood for attaching the tailpiece to the spine with more screws. It may sound bad, but it won't break! | |
| Here's the top braces and a dandy demonstration of my gluing skills. The braces are from very old scrap bits of fairly straight-grained pine. The knots in the under-the-bridge thing don't go far beyond the surface. This is with the lacquer on. | |
