| Blue/Red versions: | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| These cheats are pretty much common knowledge by now, but they really help. There is a chance they could ruin your game file, but it has never happened to me, and I have used it many times. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Get an infinite number of almost any item: | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| This one's my favorite. It only works on the Blue and Red versions of Pokemon. Here's the procedure: | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| A. Go to Viridian City. B. Talk to the old man who taught you how to use poke balls. Let him demonstrate. C. Fly directly to Cinnibar Island. Do not confront any more wild pokemon until you get there. D. Surf along the coast of the eastern shore. Position yourself so you look like your halfway on the island and halfway off. Keep going up and down the shore. E. A pokemon will challenge you eventually, which will probably be a pokemon from an area you've recently visited (this can be useful if you have been in the Safari Zone lately). In different games, different things happen. Sometimes it will be a pokemon over level 200! I like to catch these and impress my friends. Other times it will be a very freaky pokemon named "Missingno," also known as "Missing Number," or some other thing with a name that is impossible to pronounce (M-Block). It will look like a weird bunch of dots-- you will know when you find it. Sometimes it's level will be over 200, or even 0. Beware: Catch it at your own risk, It is very possible it could mess up your file. It is very weak, anyway. F. Defeat this pokemon or simply run from it. G. Look in your items. The item in the sixth slot will have a glitchy simbol beside it. You now have about 150 of that item. H. This trick can be used with Rare Candies (Oh, yeah.), Master Balls, Technical Machines (TMs), or any other item. If you want to catch rare pokemon, such as from the Safari Zone, go to the area in the Safari Zone that has the pokemon you want, then fly straight to Cinnibar (use dig or an escape rope to get out). Surf on the eastern coast, and you can catch them with Ultra Balls! |

| Catch Mew! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| After many months of trying different crazy things, I've found out that the only ways to catch Mew that currently exists in any version of the game are these: - Use the GameShark code, which is: 0115D8CF - Get Mew traded to your game pack from a tour or someone else. |
