Analogue
Album review:
This new album is good in many ways. It is a lot better produced than previous two records, and the band was toghether in the studio when they did it. However, the major let-down is the last half on it; the first half is excellent with strong songs all the way. But after "Holy ground" it all goes downhill, not a single song that stands out, and the album just doesn't feel fresh anymore. But to stay positive: The first half is enough to make a good album. And the cover is really cool  (A-ha is on it for the first time since "Memorial beach"). One more good aspect is that Analogue is the best song A-ha has written since the good old days. That means the guys still got that magic touch.  7 p
Celice
A good pop song that is very fast paced and cool. Makes A-ha feels modern again (which is needed to reach out to the masses once more). The refrain is seriously cathy.  9 p

Don't Do Me Any Favours
A decent song nothing more. The intro sounds almost identical to "Take on me". And that's about the only really good aspect of it... A-ha's Beatles influences can clearly be heard here.  6 p

Cosy prisons
This is Morten's song all the way, his high notes are unmatched. And the song is of course good too!  8 p

Analogue
The best song on the album. Strong in every aspect, the music (the piano is cool) and the singing... Everything about this song is good. It belongs to A-ha's top 20 list, and that's saying a lot... 10 p

Birthright
A pretty standard ballad, but strangly enough I find myself listening to it all the time.  7 p

Holy ground
This old acoustic Harket classic comes back to life with this fresh remake. It has beautiful lyrics and is one of the best songs on the album and it's definetely the best one Morten has provided for a-ha.  9 p

Over The Treetops
This song feels very "2000 Paal". And in this case that is not a good thing. Too much britpop for me.  6 p

Halfway through the tour
A feelgood song that doesn't make me feel good. Also way too long.  5 p

A Fine Blue Line
Fair song, nothing special.  5 p

Keeper Of The Flame

Yawn. Doesn't move me, and just fills space on this albums boring last half.  5 p

Make It Soon
Nothing special at all. But on the other hand not THAT bad either.  5 p

White Dwarf
The coolest songtitle in A-ha's history (only joking) is a real album filler in my eyes.  4 p

The Summers Of Our Youth

Beautiful, but why on earth is Magne singing? ALWAYS leave the singing to Morten on the albums...  6 p
