| September 26, 2003 - My life takes a boring turn |
| Dear Friends, what I'm about to say will come as a real shocker to you...my life has taken a boring turn! Yes, JOHNNYLEEN, otherwise full of energy and fantabulosity is stuck in the doldrums. What could be causing it? Is it the weather over the past couple of weeks? Is it hateful ol' work (always a prime suspect)? Is it because I haven't ridden the exercise bike for a week until today? Perhaps it's all those things combined. I realized how shockingly dull life has become when I read my nubile playgirl friend SARRRAHJANE's website this morning. She updates her web journal every Friday and for the past couple of weeks she has just been having one humdinger of a time....drinks here, dinner there, smart topless revues in Vegas casinos...just a whirlwind of activity. Of course, part of it stems from the fact that her birthday was on Monday. Well I can't wait all the way till April for my fantabulosity to resume! So what are my plans for the weekend? Well, I start Swedish school on Saturday morning, so that should be kind of fun, although I don't really relish the idea of having to be somewhere at 9:30 in the morning. After I get back home I have to get a spiffy little haircut and then I have a workout with The Torturer at 3:30. After that, I'm free. I wish someone would hand me a few thousand dollars and I'd spend the rest of Saturday buying clothes, shoes, drinks, food, etc. As it is I'll probably end up at Ye Olde Watering Hole wishing I had stayed at home watching British comedy shows on PBS. Then on Sunday I have to continue making progress in cleaning up my bedroom in anticipation of my German friends' arrival the first weekend of November. "What?" you may ask. "Why do you have to clean your bedroom so far in advance?" Well, Dear Friends, JOHNNYLEEN is just way too fantabulous to do housekeeping so when he's confronted with it, he has to do it piecemeal. Plus all the dust makes me start sneezing so I can only clean for short periods of time. Last weekend my pledge was to clear off my dresser and a credenza, which I accomplished. This weekend is to clear off the bedside tables and the piano. Then after that it will be time to head into the Big City for a chunk of juicy cowmeat and several inexpensive vodka cocktails. Steak and vodka or gin always make me feel fantabulouser. Now here's my big news about fantabulosity. While I may be in the doldrums right now and feeling drained of any glitter and glamor I might have once possessed, at the end of November I will be winging my way across the stormy Atlantic for fun and frivolities in Germany. There's nothing like bright lights and the smell of sausages cooking to put a spring in JOHNNYLEEN's step; not to mention all that lovely free-flowing German BEER! Also, I'll be in Big Deutschland in time for all the Christmas markets, which can be really fun. There are stands upon stands selling everything from handmade toys to Gluehwein. Now that stuff is yummy! It's like a wine that has other spirits mixed in with it and heated. I can tell you that on a cold November evening in Germany there's nothing like Gluehwein to warm you up fast! Last year I went to several Christmas markets, including one in France. But my overall favorite one was the humongous bootilicious one they have in Stuttgart! You wouldn't believe all the little booths and stands selling stuff! And because the booths have to be tall enough to stand up in, I finally got lost among all the aisles because I couldn't see over the booths to get my bearings. But all in all it was quite fun and I really like Stuttgart anyway. In fact, I'm going to ask my friends if we can't go to Stuttgart and just spend the weekend there. Just thinking about it is suddenly bringing on a resurgence of interest in life and my former fantabulosity! Next entry Previous entry Go to diary entries Go back home |
