| Former President of Poland and creator of the Solidarity Movement, Nobel Prize recipient, Lech Walesa, invited by Miami's Cuban Community. Meeting with Florida's Polonia organized by Mrs. Blanka Rosensteil on May 24th 1996. From right to left: Lech Walesa,Mrs. Jadwiga Zielewicz from The Chopin Foundation, and myself. |
The start of my professional teaching career was at an Elementary School in the city of Jaworzno and then, at the Technical School for Miners in Myslowice, as an instructor of professional subjects. Later on, I worked as an Administrative Assistant to the Dean, Doc.dr. Hab. Joahim Strzoda, (a wonderful person to work with), of the University of Economics in Katowice-(Dedicated to Karol Adamiecki). I lost this job because I never became a member of the Communist Party. Following this, I worked for the Department of Culture of the City of Krakow. Late in 1976 - (in the latter part of the fall) - I asssumed a new "position" as a factory worker in Chicago, on O'Klay street, at the General Dynamic Corporation. Soon I had enough of Chicago's climate, and in 1977, I came to beautiful Florida. Since 1981, I have been working full-time at Miami-Dade Community College. Also, I work part-time as a Crisis Counselor.

To travel is like being somewhere, meeting people from different cultures and different languages. This lets you realize your existence in relationship with your own self, and the past and the future. |

And a few words about myself. It was April 1,1947, at 5 AM, when I was born in the house, which my father was able to buy from the government and, where my parents moved to just three days before I was born, in the village of Wytowno. I finished elementary school there, where father was the School Principal, and mother was a Polish Language and Polish Literature School Teacher. (Until now, I remember some poems that she read to the peasants' children and some of them were very responsive). I completed a three-year Technical-Vocational School in the city of Slupsk and, then, I attended a General Education School, (Liceum Ogolnoksztalcace,) a four-year Secondary School, in the small, Baltic Sea port city of Ustka. In 1969, I completed a teacher's education in my mother's city, Krakow, (which remains until today my eternal LOVE). In the year 1994, I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and, in 1997, I received a Masters of Science Degree in Mental Health, from an accredited University in Miami, Florida, U.S.A. Currently, I am working towards my PhD in Educational Technology.
