Eye of the Beholder was John's original obligation to Rich's invitation to contribute to the new comic series. Not unlike the rest of the issue, John's story was hasty and quickly rendered, even though more clearly opinionated than was typical. Obviously the content was influenced by the current media of the day, in this case, Pink Floyd's The Wall.

Most revealing to MC historians and bibliophiles, is the signature date to his story, 2-80, evidence that Fantasy Comics was nowhere close to making the original deadline.
