Deadbeat Comics was the more successful of the two new 'third series' titles that ever made it to print. The development of John Beers' artistic and writing abilities are apparent in the two stories which appeared in this issue. The vein of humor in Deadbeat Comics is most visible in the cover of issue #4, the '1986 No-Show Issue', referring to the failure of Halley's comet to produce a spectacular showing that year.
