The ad at the beginning of this issue is a sincere appeal to Scot, to get back 'to the drawing table' with John and get MC going again (a whole year already passed since publication of #3). The art is by Scot, from an earlier portfolio. Joe Schmoe was the felonious character who was doing hard time and had nothing to do except stand around the prison yard all day and share these weird stories of his (the general premise of Deadbeat Comics). Typical John Beers humor: the warden has a branch with marshmallows on it, and the electric chair is wired to an old television set. This issue, arguably one of the finest MC's ever published, is also lamentable as it is the final issue of this series, and one of the last MC Comics ever published.
