At some point, Adam joined his brother Joseph in leasing a plantation in Maryland as described in the following depositions transcribed from the original documents found at the Washington County Courthouse in Springfield, Kentucky.

The Deposition of Christian Fogle witness for Joseph Fogle in a certain suit in Chancery now Depending in the Washington Circuit Court in the State of Kentucky wherein the said Joseph Fogle is complainant and Adam Fogle�s Heirs Defendants---being called and present before us---

Thomas B. Jones and Peter Burkhart two Justices of the Peace in and for the County aforesaid and being duly sworn on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God Deposeth and saithe that the said Joseph Fogle about the years one thousand seven hundred and eighty three or four Rented of Daniel Delaney of Frederick County in the State of Maryland, near Frederick Town, a plantation and also bought the good will of Daniel Groin who lived on the said Plantation Previous to him the said Joseph Fogle taking possession of said Premises that Adam Fogle Brother to the said Joseph Fogle on so me terms unknown to this Deponent went and Lived with his Brother, Joseph aforesaid on the said land and Laboured together in the Farming business and that this Deponent was always under the impression that they two Brothers were Equally in Partnership _____ all their contracts ____ and Sales also the _____ ______ on the said Premises together with all the Estate and property Respecting or with the Negroes as  Touching other things and that this Deponent thinks from what he could see _____ any preference was given it was due to him the said Joseph Fogle as he appeared to this Deponent to be the Principle in the Management Concerning the Premises and Further this Deponent saith not.
