The morning sun shed light over the beautiful beach at breakfast time (see above). We didn't waste any time, but entered the forest, reaching the Colo Colo River. The path cutting through the dense forest started to become dirtier and dirtier. We realised that we could end up the Dal brothers in the world famous Norwegian TV series 'Professor Drvels Secret' (finding the professor in an egg) and turned around. The small river was really neat and we found a incredibly cosy resting place (see below) where we could swim and play childish games like throughing stone on targets in the shape of a dead tree that had fallen over the river. Happily, no scary Overfloden incidents happened. |

As usual we were in a hurry to catch the last bus back to Castro, and somehow we managed to get all the way back to Cucao just in time. This time was even more miraculous, getting lift on the platform of a jeep on a seemingly carless road and then being saved by the bus driver that was delayed just the right amount of time. Delays occur even in Chile, at least at Isla de Chilo.
In Castro we just picked up our luggage and went on to the next bus, heading for the norhernmost town on the island, Ancud. |
