Parque Nacional de Huerquehue

Arriving in Parque Nacional de Huerquehue, the scenery was surprisingly similar to Scandinavia (see above). However, during our evening stroll through dense forests (see below) with excellent views of the white and smoking Villarrica volcano the disparity was more evident. The lakes became smaller and smaller the deeper we came into the parque. The biggest lake, Lago Caburgua (see above), was quite big. The second lake, in which I had a bath before "going to tent" was fairly small. The next day we were to climb up to the most fascinating part of the park, consisting of numerous small lakes and forests with strange-looking trees.
