Batik Course

On this training will be taught  about how to make batik, will taught about knowledge and practice in batik processing until after finished this training program participants can understand and make batik by their own based on pattern and design in classical batik or apply their art ideas became batik in modern batik or in painting batik.

This batik Training program consist of 4 parts different training program, i.e.:

1. Classical Batik Process Training Program.

2. Modern Batik Process Training Program.

3. Painting Batik Process Training Program.

4. One Day Training Program.

☼  Classical Batik Process Training Program

Subject of Classical Batik Process Training:

1. Batik knowledge,

• introduction of kinds of malam (batik wax) and various of canting

• how to warm wax according to batik process.

• how to use canting

2. Dyeing batik knowledge,

• how to coloring batik by batik dyeing

• how to cover and remove wax (kerok) in batik dyeing

3. Knowledge about how to make variation motif of fabric (kain panjang).

4. Knowledge about how to applied wax on fabric (kain panjang).

5. Knowledge about how to dyeing fabric (kain panjang).

6. Knowledgne about how to remove all wax (lorod).

Method of Classical Batik Process Training:

 I. First step ( 1 day ),

• learn to make pattern / sketch

• introduction about batik materials and tools

• practice to use canting.

 II. Second step ( 3 day ),

• practice to apply wax in motif on small size cotton fabric

• practice to dye

• practice to remove wax.

 III. Third step ( 3 day ), repeat,

• practice to apply wax in motif on medium size cotton fabric

• practice to dye

• practice to remove wax.

IV. fourth step ( 1 week ), exercise,

• practice to make pattern and motifs of fabric

• practice to apply wax

• practice to dye

• practice to remove wax.

 V. Fifth step ( 1 month ), processing to make kain panjang,

• practice to make pattern and motifs of kain panjang

• practice to apply wax on kain panjang

• practice to dye kain panjang

• practice to remove wax from kain panjang.

The long of required time (normal time) is 1,5 month.
