Invent
your own writing technology - For this essay, we created a writing
technology that is not used in today's technological world. We are use
to using computers for most of our writing. Even those that don't use the
most modern writing technology, count on some writing technology. This
assignment encouraged us to examine how our thinking would change without
the technology of such things as pencils and pens, or any other writing
technology.
Traditional versus Electronic Style Essay - This essay encourged us to examine the formation of "writing style" as it has advanced through the years. We were also to examine just what "writing style" is. We talk about a style all the time in English, but what do we mean when we speak of style?
The Online Community Discourse and Style - This assignment had us follow a newsgroup for a couple of months to determine if newsgroups have a "style" of their own. This essay built off the previous essay on the discussion of what style is.
Collaboratively Written and Published Web Site - This assignment was completed by a group of four English students. We examined news websites from around the world, and applied criteria from different style guides to determine how well these sites followed the style guides, and how well the site worked for the reader.
Changes Made to my Website: Revised April 22, 2003 - The webpage that you are currently viewer was all part of my Writing Technology Class assignment. In the beginning of the semester we were asked to make a simple website. As the class progressed, we were asked to make changes to our sites based on the materials that we had read for class. This page is my overall thoughts on those changes, and why I decdied to make them.
