AMERICA'S CHRISTIAN HERITAGE HOMEPAGE
Week 4 - Understand the Problem Before Trying to Fix It !
  2.  Many people reject Christ because they have bought into secular humanism and its evolutionist
underpinnings.  Those people must be educated before they will be saved.

 Revelation 3: 14-22

To the Church in Laodicea
"To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen,
the faithful

and true witness, the ruler of God's creation. I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot.

I wish you were either one or the other!  So, because you are lukewarm--neither hot nor cold--

I am about to spit you out of my mouthYou say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not

need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.
I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes
to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.

Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent.   Here I am! I stand at the
door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him,
           and he with me.
To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as

I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne.   He who has an ear, let him hear what
the Spirit says to the churches."

3.  Over half the Bible is written about kingdoms, rulers, and societies, reminding us what happens
when we accept or reject Gods instruction.

Leviticus 25: 42, 43

Because the Israelites are my servants, whom I brought out of Egypt, they must not be sold as slaves.

Do not rule over them ruthlessly, but fear your God.

Numbers 15: 14-16

For the generations to come, whenever an alien or anyone else living among you presents an
offering made by fire as an aroma pleasing to the LORD , he must do exactly as you do.
The

community is to have the same rules for you and for the alien living among you; this is a lasting

ordinance for the generations to come. You and the alien shall be the same before the LORD :

The same laws and regulations will apply both to you and to the alien living among you.' "

Deuteronomy 1: 15, 16
So I took the leading men of your tribes, wise and respected men, and appointed them to have

authority over you-as commanders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties and of tens and as tribal

officials. And I charged your judges at that time: Hear the disputes between your brothers and

judge fairly, whether the case is between brother Israelites or between one of them and an alien.

2 Samuel 5: 1-3
All the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron and said, "We are your own flesh and blood.

In the past, while Saul was king over us, you were the one who led Israel on their military
campaigns. And the LORD said to you, '
You will shepherd my people Israel, and you will become

their ruler.' "

When all the elders of Israel had come to King David at Hebron, the king made a compact with them

at Hebron before the LORD , and they anointed David king over Israel.

2 Samuel 23: 2-4

"The Spirit of the LORD spoke through me;
his word was on my tongue.
          The God of Israel spoke,
the Rock of Israel said to me:
          '
When one rules over men in righteousness,

when he rules in the fear of God,

he is like the light of morning at sunrise

on a cloudless morning,

like the brightness after rain

that brings the grass from the earth.'

1 Kings 3: 8-10

Your servant is here among the people you have chosen, a great people, too numerous to count or
          number.
So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between

right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours?"

The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this.

1 Kings 4:7

Solomon also had twelve district governors over all Israel, who supplied provisions for the king and

the royal household. Each one had to provide supplies for one month in the year.

 Nehemiah 7: 64, 65
These searched for their family records, but they could not find them and so were excluded from the
          priesthood as unclean.
The governor, therefore, ordered them not to eat any of the most sacred food

until there should be a priest ministering with the Urim and Thummim.

Job 34: 16, 17

"If you have understanding, hear this;

listen to what I say.

Can he who hates justice govern?

Will you condemn the just and mighty One?
