Every warrior's boot used in battle
and every garment rolled in blood
will be destined for burning,
will be fuel for the fire.
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will reign on David's throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the LORD Almighty
will accomplish this.

The Kingdom of Righteousness
See, a king will reign in righteousness
and rulers will rule with justice.
Each man will be like a shelter from the wind
and a refuge from the storm,
like streams of water in the desert
and the shadow of a great rock in a thirsty land.
� Daniel 7: 13, 14
"In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the
clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given
authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped him.
His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will
never be destroyed.

That is why I did not even consider myself worthy to come to you. But say the word, and my servant
will be healed. For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, 'Go,'
and he goes; and that one, 'Come,' and he comes. I say to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it."
When Jesus heard this, he was amazed at him, and turning to the crowd following him, he said,
"I tell you, I have not found such great faith even in Israel."

Submission to the Authorities
Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that
which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently,
he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do
so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those
who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and
he will commend you. For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for
he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment
on the wrongdoer. Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible
punishment but also because of conscience. This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are
God's servants, who give their full time to governing. Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe
taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
� Ephesians 1: 19-23
and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty
strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right
hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title
that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things
under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the
fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

Instructions on Worship
I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone--
for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and
holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior,
� Hebrews 13: 16, 17
And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. Obey
your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an
account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage
to you.
