Immunex Corporation (IMNX)

Here's one of the bio-tech stocks that looks good right now at $25 (although you could have gotten them for less in the past few months). Imunex is one of the few profitable biotech companies out there, with $1 billion in cash and no debt. They specialize in drugs for treating rheumatoid arthritis, asthma and other inflammatory diseases, as well as cancer and cardiovascular disease. Their main drug is Enbrel, a sort of miracle drug that not only treats rheumatoid arthritis, but also the underlying cause to prevent further damage, which is a key point for patients. It is among the top five pharmaceutical products ever in terms of sales within the first two years of launch. With a long waiting list, Imunex is constructing a state of the art plant in Rhode Island to handle the demand. More drugs are in the pipeline, hoping to find another star like Enbrel. Look into it and if you don't like what you see, look at Imunex's main competitors, Genentech and Amgen.
