Behemoth

Behemoth Band Photo

Behemoth, a Polish Death Metal band, has quite easily taken over the crown of "Best Thrash Metal Band" over Slayer and Metallica. Yes, it is very sad that looking back, Metallica was, in fact, the originators of Thrash Metal. Slayer took over Metallica's throne, (I wonder why Lar$?), but now, It is in the hands of Behemoth. They are still considered "Death Metal," but now, with their thunderous drumming and powerful riffs that kick you in the face and don't stop until you're dead, have become masters and commanders of the Thrash Metal scene.

Some of Their Mightiest song's include the thrash heavenly, "No Sympathy For Fools," which includes some of the fastest drumming and in your face riffs. Their newest abomination, "Conquer All," follows this trend of Heavy and Fast drumming, along with the in your face riffs, not to mention the howling of Nergal.

Blumchen

Blumchen's

Jasmin Wagner, better known as Blumchen, an Icon of the mid 90's all the way through the early 2000's, invented the greatest style of Techno/dance in the world, "Happy-Hardcore." Happy-Hardcore is a type of music that is the fusion of fast, upbeat, techno music infused with happy, jumpy, and easy to sing to Lyrics. Blumchen not only created this kind of music, she is the greatest to preform it.

Blumchen, which is german for "Small flower," was the nickname her mother gave her as a child. Blumchen is known in the states under her American tour name "Blossom," however, she never had as much success in the U.S. as she did across Europe. Blumchen was able to sell out every stadium she played at, and had throngs of fans just waiting to see her. Her music was, and still is, very popular, especially now since the YTMND "OMG Secret Nazi Forest!" featured on of her songs, "Heut Ist Mein Tag," translated to, "Today is my Day."

Blumchen and her super happy-hardcore music will live on forever, starting from her first huge hit, "Du Und Ich," all the way through her most recent works on her "Jasmin" album, featuring, "Blaue Augen," "Automatisch," and "Der Beste Von Allen."

Cradle of Filth

Cradle of Filth's

Cradle of Filth are a bunch of douchebags, but you can't do anything but love them. Cradle has been tearing apart the Metal Scene since the early 90's, and have been Lyrical and Musical Gods since. Dani Filth, Frontman and creator of the band, has made Cradle of Filth not only the tops in the Black Metal Scene, but also one of the most hated. With his obnoxious high-pitched screams, to his rampant growls, Dani has the greatest vocal talents, along with the help of some of the worlds best Guitarists, Bassists, Drummers, and Keyboardists, and the best lyrics in Metal, Cradle of Filth is quite possibly the Greatest Black metal Band.

Need proof? Just pick up any of their Albums, from the early reaches of "Vempire" and "The Principle of Evil Made Flesh," to their middle stages of "Dusk and Her Embrace," "Cruelty and The Beast," and their greatest album, possibly the best of All Time, "Midian." Or you could check out their newer albums, "Damnation and A Day," "Nymphetamine," or recently released "Thornography."

Midian, hands down the greatest musical and lyrical album ever created by a Black Metal Band. Every song is a piece of art granted upon them by Satan himself, whether it be from the opening Guitar Riffs of "Cthulhu Dawn," the mesmerizing lyrics of "Lord Abortion" and "Her Ghost in The Fog," or the evil musical temptress of "Tortured Soul Asylum" Midian is the greatest Black metal Album of all time.

Cradle of Filth, going back to them being hated, has come under scrutiny of them being "Sell-outs." Sure their Music has been slowly going into "Goth-Rock" since the coming out of "Damnation And A Day," they are still the most amazing band ever. If you ever have a chance to see them Live, I suggest it 100% fully. They are the gods of Black Metal, and fucking douchebags.

Cryptopsy

Cryptopsy

Quoted From Crypstopsy.net Originating from the Montreal area, this group first appeared in 1992, when it was called Necrosis; in the same year it was reincarnated under the name of Cryptopsy. With just a demo called Ungentle Exhumation and then the album Blasphemy Made Flesh (1994), the group acquired a solid reputation on the international scene. Their release of None So Vile in 1996 was the first burst of brilliance in their career. From that point the group clearly outclassed other groups by reinventing the style, today categorized as extreme music. Their album None So Vile will always be considered a grind classic.

In 1997, the addition of the vocalist Michael DiSalvo replacing Lord Worm added a very intense front man to the group. After a remarkable performance at the Milwaukee MetalFest, the band received a contract offer from Century Media Records, one of the weightiest disc companies specializing in metal music. In each period since the beginnings of the underground metal wave, lead groups have pushed past the limits of musical genres. Feeling the pressure to compose an album even more extreme than None So Vile, Cryptopsy members launched Whisper Supremacy in 1998.

In its association with Century Media Records, the group achieved world distribution for Whisper Supremacy, meaning they were able to put on shows on several continents, including Asia, Europe and North America. In Japan just three weeks after its release, 6,000 copies had already been grabbed up in the land of the Rising Sun and total sales around the world have exceeded 50,000 copies - quite an exploit in this musical niche. Cryptopsy is the first Quebec metal group since Vovod to make such a significant impact on an international level.

Since their 1998 release of Whisper Supremacy, significant events have multiplied at an accelerated speed. After their American and European tours, their participation at the famous Dynamo Festival in Holland and shows in Japan, the quintet has gone back into the studio to record And Then You'll Beg, a fourth opus in six years. Once again, this album has been produced by Pierre Rmillard (None So Vile, Whisper Supremacy) and was released worldwide during Fall 2000.

In August 2001, the vocalist Michael DiSalvo left the band after a performance at the German Festival Wacken Open Air. He was then replaced by Martin Lacroix from the band Spasme. On June 1st 2002, Cryptopsy put an end in Montreal to a world tour of 150 concerts through North America, Europe and Asia. The album None So Live was released in May 2003 and since then all the fans of extreme music around the world can experience this memorable concert.

At the end of 2003, Cryptopsy were proud to announce the return of the original member and legendary vocalist-lyricist Lord Worm. With Lord Worm back in the fold and a fifth studio album due in 2004 the future looks very promising.

Dimmu Borgir

Dimmu Borgir

Dimmu Borgir is a Symphonic Black Metal Band from the depths of Norway. They named themselves Dimmu Borgir, which is Icelandic for "Dark Fortress," but is also the name of Icelandic Lava Flows, "The Dimmuborgir," which ancient legends believe is the gateway to hell.

Dimmu Borigr formed in 1993 and have been blasphemizing Christianity ever since. They are considered more of an Anti-Christian Band then they are Satanic, but their blood does flow black with pure Satan. Dimmu has released songs that are pure Anti-Christian, one of which, "Tormentor of Christian Souls," is probably their most Anti-Christian song and is in the top 10 for "Most Anti-Christian Song." Dimmu Borgir, however, has less songs about killing Christians then they do songs about how Christians are "Lepers Among Us." Dimmu Borgir can also be seen as anti-political, such as "Blessings Upon the Throne of Tyranny." "The enfeebled provides the fool, the Disabled Provides the tool, The apathetic demand the affection, of those suffering from their own satisfaction"

Some of Dimmu Borgir's albums include, "Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia (PEM)," "Enthrone Darkness Triumphant (EDT)," and their classic "Stormblast." PEM is by far their best album to date, with tracks, "Blessings Upon The Throne of Tyranny," "Kings of the Carnival Creation," and "Puritania," which is a very powerful anthem like song. EDT includes the great "Mourning Palace," one of their best Melodic songs, and Stormblast includes the Cult favorite, "Broderskapets Ring."

Dschinghis Khan

Dschinghis Khan

Quoted From WikiPedia: Dschinghis Khan (Pronounced "Jingis" Khan) was a German pop band, created in 1979 to compete in the Eurovision Song Contest. The name of the band is the German spelling of "Genghis Khan", and was chosen to fit the song of the same name, written and produced by Ralph Siegel with lyrics by Bernd Meinunger. Appearing at the height of the disco boom and following on the heels of other German-produced bands such as Boney M, Arabesque, and Silver Convention, the band achieved wide popularity throughout the world, especially in Europe, Russia, and Japan, though they went wholly unnoticed in the United States. Their songs invariably were themed on historical figures and exotic cultures and locales. Though the group broke up in the mid-1980s, it has enjoyed a recent resurgence in popularity on the internet due to a video of them performing their hit song Moskau being discovered. The video and the song associated with it have become a popular topic on blogs and can be considered an internet fad.

The Misfits

The Misfits

You want Horror? You want You want Punk? Look no further, the Godfather's of Punk and Horro's lovechild have arrived. The Misftis are the origional Horrorpunk band, and have been tearing across the country living it out as the Kings of Horrorpunk.

Ever since they rolled out the tune, "We Are 138," they have become The staple of what Horrorpunk should be. Other of their greats include, "Last Caress," "She," "Die, Die My Darling," "Where Eagles Dare," "Astro Zombies," and the JFK lovers favorite, "Bullet." Amazingly enough, all those came out before people even knew who the Misfits were, or what Horrorpunk even was. Today they blast out to the tune of, "Dig up her Bones," "walk Among us," and "Speak of the Devil."

The Misfits newer work is much more different than their original work, which is why they've been named, "The New Fits." Their old work is the best of Horrorpunk, and I'm an avid fan of their original work, but their new stuff is still just as good, but in a different way.

NatteFrost

Nattefrost

There is almost too much to say about this band, they are that incredible. Much like Satyricon inventing "Medieval Metal," Nattefrost too has created a new subgenre of Metal, "Black Punk Metal." Their style is of Black Metal roots, but is played with a Punk style. Nattefrost was origionally intended as an experimental band to see if the genre could work, but has quickly grown in Popularity.

"Blood and Vomit," Nattefrost's first album, is the best album of theirs to date, (they only have 2 currently). "Blood and Vomit" contains songs such as "Ancient Devil Worshiping," "Satanic Voctory," "Sanctum 666," and "Sluts of Hell." Sanctum 666 is my personal favorite, but "Sluts of Hell" is the Cult favorite. Their second album, "Terrorist" was faster paced, and had much more punk than metal, unlike "Blood and Vomit" which was more metal than Punk. Terrorist has songs such as, "C*nt C*nt (Gimme more)," "Terrorist," and their greatest, and most rediculous song, "Dinsadansdjeveldyrkaar!!!" which is sung in complete jibberish.

Nattefrost is a very interesting band, but they are still in a developmental stage. After "Blood and Vomit" they could be looked at as a serious metal band, but after "Terrorist" it remains unknown on how seriously this band can be taken. Even if they are rediculous, Nattefrost is still top 10 in my favorite bands.

NatteFrost- Ancient Devil Worshiping
Cold, cold suicide winds
From the misty mountains
Eternally trapped in this frozen hell
In this grim black forest

Cold winds, cruel winter
Heathen earth, black blood

A guest from a haunting wind
From the lands of phantoms
The order of the elder ones
Who travel with death

Root of evil from the past
Timeless memories becomes dust

Black eternal fucking sin
Ancient Devil worshipping

Cold sleeping bottomless lakes
Waiting to be discovered
All paths lead to certain death
The spirit of malignant glory

Silent watcher, evil eye
Silent watcher in the cold...
...unholy black demon soil
Awakes the animal inside
Made strong by the sacrifice
Blood of holy, blood of Christ !!!

Black eternal fucking sin
Ancient Devil worshipping...

["Worship Satan and follow the path of Death"]

Ozzy Osbourne

Ozzy Osbourne

The Legendary frontman from "Black Sabbath" left the band, well... got kicked out, and created his own band, Ozzy Osbourne. With his Godlike voice and lyrics, Ozzy is the God of Rock and Roll, and it helps to have the most talented guitarist in the world by your side, Randy Rhodes.

With Ozzy's Voice, and Randy's talent, Ozzy took the world by storm with Legendary tunes and their riffs in such songs as, "Crazy Train," "Flying High Again," "Mr. Crowley," "I Don't Know," and GTA Vice City hit, but most recently featured in Guitar Hero, "Bark at the Moon." The Song "Flying High Again" is legendary in it's own ranks for being a song with one of the fastest guitar solos in the world, and on top of that, it only took Randy one take to record the track.

Ozzy has been known to do some crazy things in his days, stemming from drug addiction, and even crazier how quickly he got off them by simply flushing his entire stash of drugs down the toilet. He has bitten the head off of a bat onstage, and bitten the head off of a Dove on Television. He is also notorious for "out-doing" Motley Crue by snorting an entire pile of ants during a contest between the two bands to see who was crazier.

Ozzy continues his "Ozzfest" and is still not only playing, but also recording with his origional band Black Sabbath. If you ever get the chance, go to an Ozzfest, it is the greatest metal musical expirience you will ever have. Every year it is guaranteed that either Ozzy or Black Sabbath will play to close out the show. Either way is is incredibly worth the expirience, along with the $65 middle-of-nowhere-seating ticket.

Satyricon

Satyricon Band Photo

Satyr is the frontman to the greatest Norwegian metal band, Satyricon. He, along side with his drummer Frost, have created a new subgenre of Metal known as "Medieval Metal," which stems from Satyricon's obsession with Medieval times. Ever since their first album, "Dark Medieval Times," they have been tearing through the Metal Scene.

Every album they have ever come out with is amazing, especially Nemesis Divina, Rebel Extravaganza, and Volcano. Their newest album, "Now, Diabolical" Has the same music cleanliness of "Volcano," however, Satyricon has been gaining scrutiny in Metal groups by saying Satyricon is "selling out." Satyricon isn't selling out, unlike $metallica$ Satyricon is just doing the same thing they have always been doing, reinventing Metal.

Volcano is my personal favorite album, with tracks, "With Ravenous Hunger," "Fuel For Hatred," and "Repined Bastard nation." Volcano is very dark and has powerful meanings, "Who made deceit, into the ultimate award?" "Repined Bastard Nation" covers just about every power hungry tyrant country, and "Fuel for Hatred" speaks for itself.

I recommend Satyricon, They're a true powerhouse of Norweigian Metal. Pick up all their albums, "Dark medieval Times," "Nemesis Divina," "Rebel Extravaganza," "Volcano," and "Now, Diabolical." You wont grow tired of this band, and that's a guarantee.
