(69)(70) Elisha was recorded as "A Soldier" with no other details in the DAR reference. He served with Capt. Miles Gale in his Company from Cowan (Chowan) Co., NC. He was entry #34 on p.693.
According to "COLONIAL SOLDIERS OF THE SOUTH 1732-1774", Elisha served as a common soldier with the rank of PVT. He is listed as #57 in the muster list, on 25 Nov 1754. He served with Lt.Col. John Harvey's Regiment representing Perquimans County NC. He died on 26 Jul 1793 in Gates Co. NC. (71)(72) (73) Cowan County, NC was formed in 1670. Gates County was formed in 1778 from Chowan & Hertford Counties, NC. He was buried on 29 Jul 1793. (74) Jan 1978: The major compiler for this information was Betty W.
