| Here we will supply you with the most up to date essential news on the Dreamcast. Past News Archives *Peter Moore, Sega of America's president and chief financial officer, resigned Jan. 17 after 4 years with the company. Effective immediately, Tetsu Kayama, chief operating officer of SEGA Corporation, will assume the expanded role of president and chief executive officer of SEGA of America.1/22/03* *Dreamcast release list now updated and expect a few new game pages on these up coming releases!1/21/03* *Sega of Europe has issued a new Dreamcast bundle. Up until recently, the package included a Dreamcast console, one controller, one vmu, Virtua Fighter 3tb, Metropolis Street Racer, and Jet Set Radio. MSR and JSR (not JGR- Sega of Europe stayed with the Japanese title) have been dropped and replaced with Confidential Mission and Phantasy Star Online along with the Dreamkey 3.0 which is still available for free from SoE. Both bundles are still available. The older one is GBP 105 (about $150) and the newer one is GBP 100 (about $142). Considering how difficult it is to come by new Dreamcasts these days, this is a fantastic deal. You can pick them up from most online European stores.1/20/03* *Right after the recent December 26th release of The King of Fighters 2001 (which was released right after King of Fighters 2000), Playmore, due to high fan demand and better than expected sales from loyal Dreamcast, has unofficially confirmed that it will be releasing King of Fighters 2002 for the Sega Dreamcast this spring. Though an official statement is expected within the next few weeks, Playmore has been very pleased with the sales of the King of Fighters series since the company emerged from the ashes of SNK. When KOF2K was announced last spring, Dreamcast gamers were shocked that such a big name title would be released. A few weeks later, Playmore delivered another knockout punch when it announced KOF2K1 and everyone was convinced that was going to be it for the Dreamcast. But, the Dreamcast version of KOF2K (which received better rankings than its PS2 counterpart) sold so well that Playmore has decided to continue support of the Dreamcast; squeezing as much as they can out of the loyal DC fanbase and the Dreamcast's superior 2D capabilities and one of its most lucrative properties. At this rate, the Dreamcast may even get Playmore's most anticipated titles yet: SNK vs. Capcom (due in arcades in late 2003) which is the SNK version of the Capcom vs. SNK series.1/15/03* *Sega will be re-releasing a host of Dreamcast games, due to continued and popular demand in Japan. These titles will be made available only through Sega Direct (also known as Dreamcast-Direct or D-Direct), their online store. A total of 11 specific games will be released in two "waves" in March Check out which games are being released at the Dreamcast Release List! More games are likly to be re-released so keep on eye out for them.1/12/03* *In case you have forgotten In August 2002 SegaNet's ISP service was officially shut down, this means you have free access to all SegaNet servers. But this also means that some SegaNet servers will be closing. Although you can still play almost all SegaNet games (barring Alien Front Online and Daytona 2001) online, the less popular games such as the 2K1 series and Ooga Booga will likely be closed within the next year, and the more popular SegaNet games such as the 2K2 series will see server reductions.1/6/03* *Jan.'s article of the month is not out Click Here to Check it out. Plus Dreamcast Release List has been updated.1/4/03* *Dreamcast Magic wishes you a Merry Chrismas and a Happy New Year!* *Rez today was awarded by UGA (United Game Artists), with a special honors prize at this year's Agency for Cultural Affairs Media Festival in Japan. The annual festival, held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography, awards various prizes in the fields of digital animation to web design. Rez was chosen for its innovation and approach to visual imagery and audio, providing a captivating and unique gameplay experience.
