*The next installment of KOF will be named The King of Fighters 2002: Challenge to Ultimate Battle.  The game is co-developed by SNK Neo Geo, Breeza Soft, and Eolith.  The development team consists of around 25 people, this game is a dream match battle like in KOF98, and marking the end of the NESTS series. SNK Neo Geo has also confirmed that there is only one Korean team in the game.  A location test of the game will begin at the Esaka NeoGeoLand in Japan on August 24.  The game will be released in October.  Hopefully a Dreamcast version will be released.  In other news this month's Article of the Month discussing

*Sega recently unveiled plans for an online game rental service for the Japanese market entitled �ZAQ.� Scheduled to begin later this week and currently supporting the PC.  The service will be compatible with Kansai's Multimedia Network and several other ISPs in the near future.  Reportedly the service allows users to download encrypted PC software which can be accessed for a period of one week or one month. A total of 32 games will be available for the service at launch including Shining Force, Space Harrier, and Densha de GO!  Players can download games individually for 100-300 yen per week or 300-500+ yen per month.8/13/02*

*While in Tokyo this week to promote the release of Resident Evil, director Paul Anderson and star Milla Jovovich revealed preliminary details regarding the Resident Evil sequel.  Specifically Anderson confirmed that he's currently writing the story for the sequel and plans to produce the film.  Reportedly the story will be loosely based on events in the game Resident Evil 3 which along with the second and the 4th were released on the Dreamcast.  Below is picture of Milla Jovovich taken during a press conference for Resident Evil held 8/7/02.  The film is scheduled for release in theaters on August 31 in Japan the film was already release in the movies in the Usa in March and the dvd and vhs is already out.8/10/02*













*Besides a great fighting game KOF 2000 will also offers an Art Gallery and a simple puzzle game. A total of 12 portraits and artwork are available for viewing at the outset but additional pictures may be unlocked by successfully playing puzzles.  Another neat addition to the DC version is a raft of classic backgrounds from previous KOF games and Samurai Shodown (Nakururu's Stage) which are associated with the Another/Manic strikers in the game.8/9/02*
