The next day was a full day at sea on the way to the first port, Cabo San Lucas. We spent the day reading
and relaxing by the pool, and investigating some of the onboard activities and shops.
We settled into our dinner table at 6:00, a very nice window table for 4.
The next morning after breakfast, we cruised the deck as we approached Cabo, arriving at about 11:00 am. Cabo didn't have a dock big enough for our ship, so we anchored off shore in the bay. We rode in the life boats or tender boats to shore from the ship. The weather was 95 degrees and very humid and sticky. The water was an aquamarine blue and clear.
Land's End
After tendering to the dock, we immediately boarded a glass bottom boat for a tour around Lands End, the most southern point of Baja. The rock formations were beautiful as the waves crashed against the rocks, crevices, and caves. The famous Lands End rock arch divides the Pacific Ocean from the Sea of Cortes. The 40 minute boat ride was quite rough as we bounced around the surf in the small boat.
We returned to the dock, and boarded a tour bus for a drive though the streets of Cabo. We ended up at the opposite end of the bay at an exclusive hotel, Giorgios, that had beautiful views of the Cabo shoreline and of our ship. The bus took us back to town near the shopping and restaurant district-about a half hour walk from the dock. We spent the rest of the day exploring the town and being hounded by the street vendors "wanting our money" as they say. This was one of the disappointing parts of our trip. Just about everywhere we went in Mexico, the vendors were relentless in selling their "junk"-it became old and repetitious real quick!
We saw the famous restaurant/bars Cabo Wabo, Senor Frogs, and the Giggling Marlin. We then went back to the dock for sailing at 6:00 pm
