| When I bought the car the external oil cooler was originally fitted to the back of the fanhousing (over the big hole where the air gets sucked in) consequently sucking extra hot air on to the barrels and heads. I was advised it was not a good thing. I did not want to put the oil cooler in the usual places the VW peopel recomended , eg over the gear box ect , I wanted something different so with cooler in hands i tried placing it in every position on my buggy you can think of! |
| In the photo you can see where i finally decided to fit the oil cooler on the side . With finishing touches of a braided oil pipe and a home made air duct I dont think it looks out of place . If you're wondering what I'm looking at a bird just flew over and s**t on my newly uphlostead seats! |
