Through our eyes, we see the world and yet, through it are expressed the thoughts and the world within us. What we see can make us who we are; how we see things can tell others who we are.
But in a world where what we see are often not what we get, sometimes all it takes is to close our eyes to see things clearly.
The challenge for journalists is to keep their eyes open, see through the smoke and help the people see the truth. Because if they refuse to do so, no one else will.
This is my challenge.

What I Do |
| I Write |
|
Is writing my passion?
I can't tell. I've been writing since grade school and has been lucky enough to join several competitions across the country.
In college, I do it all the time, not necessarily out of love for it but only because some professors just love to assign papers to write (oops, I'm not referring to anyone). Nah, it comes with the course.
I do enjoy writing. There's just something about those words and how you use them to express your thoughts...But I dread every single time I have to face the blank screen on the monitor.

Incidentally, I am the incoming Vice Chairperson of the College of Mass Communication Student Council. I used to dread the post but as I got more involved in the Council of Organization Representatives, I was deeply moved by the leadership and dedication of our idol, outgoing Vice Chairperson Lynn Angelika Pano.
Tuesday meetings have never been more fun-not when you have Camille, Ryan, Shayne, Negie, Nix, Jazper, and everyone else around. In fact, we have adopted a name to call our group: KISLAP-Kabataang Idol si Lynn Angelika Pano. Way to go COR!

| I Teach |
|
I teach two kids part-time: one is in third year high school while the other is in grade 6. I got bored early last year so I decided to earn some extra money for myself. I had more students then but I got tired and decided to settle for two guys before I got myself killed.
Now, I don't consider it work anymore. I enjoy teaching weekly because they've become more like a family to me. Nothing beats the feeling of going home with a smile in your heart, knowing that you've helped someone learn today...Ah, the joys of teaching.

| I Serve |

My involvement in Kapuluan has taught me several things, one of which is: there's more to life than acads. I can't say I've fully learned it but at the very least, there's the effort to go beyond academics.
There, we do visits to hospitals and slum areas, organize activities for the youth, among other things. It's fun, at the same time, it's fulfilling.

| I Dream |
|
There are many things I want to be: be a journalist (whether print or broadcast), be a lawyer, be an ambassador, be a writer, be a professor, and be a husband and father.
I have a lot of things I want to do: travel around the world; meet new cultures faces, and places; cover a war or any historical event; write a book; argue in court; teach idealistic minds; raise a family; and, for now, sleep all day.
