2006
The Puget Sound Norwegian Elkhound Association is in its 53rd year as a dog club devoted to the Elkhound "fancy."
What a legacy the pioneers of this club began when they decided to join forces to promote and enjoy this great gray dog
of Norway. Throughout the Pacific Northwest, and the world for that matter, breeders, show families and companion
owners have enjoyed the work, devotion, sweat, tears and money that have made these dogs so very special to us.
Pacific Northwest Kennel names are recognized everywhere.
PSNEA remains active in rescue activities for the Norwegian Elkhound. Several of our club members are very active in
re-homing Elkhounds who have lost their original homes for whatever reason. We have an annual fund raiser "eye clinic"
held at the Olympic Kennel Shows in August at the Enumclaw, Fairgrounds. Proceeds from this clinic, open to all dogs for a
nominal fee, help to fund our on-going rescue efforts.
PSNEA holds four meetings a year:
January at the Western Washington Fairground, Dog Show week
March at the Timberland Dog Show in Chehalis at the Fairground
June at the Western Washington Fairground, Dog Show
August at the Olympic Kennel Club Shows, Enumclaw, WA.
This is the time of our Elkhound Specialty and BBQ, Raffle and Eye Clinic
The club has a table set up at the Canine Fest Show. Below are some pictures taken there.
