I Pronounce You...
The Quotes

~*~*~*~~*~*~*~~*~*~*~~*~*~*~~*~*~*~~*~*~*~~*~*~*~~*~*~*~~*~*~*~~*~*~*~~*~*~*~

On this page you will find all the best and my favourite quotes from the period of Ben&Meg's story I called
I Pronounce You... . The page includes all of the Wedding-related quotes -- starting from Ben&Meg setting the date, throughout all the planning, the actual Wedding and the Reception. When you know who catches you know what, the next quotes page - House of Cards --  takes over.
Please, notice -- the poem Ben&Meg recited and the fragments of the bible read by Joan and Antonio, as well as Antonio's blessing are not included on this page. Go to "The Wedding Page" for those.
I don't butt in as often as usual on this page. It just speaks for itself.

You know, I suspect most people have a lot better things to do
than stare at a screen watching Ben Evans and Meg Cummings get married.

Meg: As soon as we can book the church, Mr. Evans and I are getting married.
Ben: That's right. And this time nothing's gonna stop us.

Casey: Hey, what's going on? You guys won in the lottery or something?
Joan: Better!
Ben walks up to Meg with most mischievously happy smile.
Meg: Ben and I are finally getting married.!
Ben: As soon as we can. No more waiting.
Casey: Well, I can't say I'm surprised.

Casey: I really... I really am happy for you, Meg. You deserve the best.
Meg: And I have it.

Meg: You are a great, great friend.
Ben: Yes, you are. None of this would be happening if it wasn't for you.
Casey: Oh, me? What did I do?
Ben: You, well, let's see now, you saved Meg from drowning on her first day in Sunset Beach, you gave her a place to live, made her feel at home, you, well, you even encouraged her not to give up on a certain unapproachable British guy.

Tim upset Meg again:
Ben: I don't know about you, but I'd like to wire his mouth shut again.
Casey: As your new best man, I'd be glad to assist.

Meg: Why can't we see Dana?
Tim: Why? Well, I thought that you guys would wanna tell Annie the good news.
Annie: What good news?
Tim: Ben and Meg are going to set their wedding date.
Annie: Oh, that was really worth holding up everybody.

To which my response is:
Tim: Slow day for you, Annie?

Annie: (to Tim): If you're up to something it has to do with Ben, I'm sure, because it always does.

Gabi: So, Meg, how does it feel when your dreams finally become reality?
Meg: Oh, Gabi, it is so unbelievable. I... I didn't think we were ever gonna get married after everything that we've been through, but now we are gonna get married and there's nothing that's gonna stop us again.

Annie( sees Dana): Oh my God, reality check, I've been hanging ad psycho ward way too long. [you got that right]

Annie: Wait a minute, that was no dream. That was Maria.
Tim: Maria? Maria "Maria Torress" Maria? Maria "The Bottom Of The Sea" Maria? [You know, I think I am going to give Tim credit for having a tad of intelligence. A tiny little one. On the "bottom of the ocean" matter I agree with him wholeheartedly]

Ben: Listen, what Maria and I had was very special, Annie, but that's in my past. My future is with Meg.
Annie: No, that's just what you think, Ben.
Ben: No, no, no! That's what I KNOW.

Ben: My life 's with Meg now. We'd be married in a few weeks and I have every intention of concentrating on just that. It's definitely time to move on.
Bette: Now you're talking.

Bette: I've got a great idea for yours and Meg's wedding.
Ben: Dare I ask?
Bette: Of course! (...) Look, I think it would be a great idea if you and Meg got married on the Internet for the world to see, huh?
Ben: You know, I suspect most people have a lot better things to do than stare at a screen watching Ben Evans and Meg Cummings get married.

Meg: What have you done?
Ben: Well... (Meg opens the box and sees another pearl) I... I promised you a pearl a week until we'll married, remember? (they kiss). I try to keep my promises.
Meg: Well, the only promise I want you to keep is the one that you make to me on my wedding day.
Ben: I'll love you forever.
Meg: And nobody else.

Dana calls Evans' residence. Ben picks up, and she gets scared (what else is new?). She doesn't say a word:
Ben: Hang up if I'm not the man you want.
Dana hangs up.

Ben: I guess I was the wrong guy.
Meg: Well, not for me. [And she climbs atop him and the things are the way they should be]

Ben: You know, this big expensive bed upstairs is much more comfortable.
Meg: We'll might just be up all night, then.

Ben: Well, I have another suggestion.
Meg: What? Not eloping, no.
Ben: Yeah, actually.
Meg: No, no, Ben I want witnesses.
Ben: We could, you know.
Meg: I want witnesses, no.
Ben: I think they have them in Vegas.
Meg: Do you know how many people have been there rooting for us? I want them all to be here. I want memories of our wedding forever.

Meg sees Mutt's portrait restored and is "a bit" disturbed:
Ben: Meg...
Meg: No, no, no, no, no, I do understand.
Ben: I thought you just said...
Meg: ... that Maria will always have a place in your heart. I'm okay with that. In fact, I'm kinda glad about it.
Ben: You are?
Meg: It just shows me that when you love, you love deeply and with all your heart. And that's what I want.
Ben: Well, that's what you got.

Ben: I love YOU now, Meg. With all my heart. (they start to kiss and when the things get REALLY interesting  the phone rings. None of them is very happy about that, lol) Hold that thought.
Meg: You can count on that.

Meg: Thank you, thank you for everything, for coming up with this brilliant plan and just being YOU! I love you!
Ben: I love you, too.

The table in Ben&Meg's house is completely covered with wedding gifts:
Meg: Well, word sure spreads quick. Mom, what did you do? Call everyone in Ludlow and inform I was getting married?
Joan: Pretty much... Oh, honey, can you blame me? I'm very proud of you. You went out and you found happiness. The man of your dreams, no less.

Tim: I bet she (Annie) didn't even mean to hurt you.
Meg: Well, I wish I could say the same. It does hurt, Annie. But the one thing it doesn't do is change anything. What Ben and I have is too strong for that and no matter what you or anyone else says or does it isn't gonna make a difference. Because no matter what happens to either of us we know where our future is and we will be together. Whether you choose to accept that or understand that or what!
Annie: You think I'm the one who won't accept the truth?
Meg: I know that Ben loved Maria.
Annie: Loves. Present tense.
Meg: I know that she was a huge part of his life and I know how deep his feelings for her went. And you know what? I'm glad that those feelings are still there. I am glad that they ran so deep. Because what happened to Ben before I met him is part of what makes him who he is today. The man that I love, the man that I will love tomorrow, for the rest of my life and I am sorry if you were trying to hurt me, but it didn't work, not the way you wanted it to.
Annie: Oh, no?
Meg: No. Because I know the truth, Annie. I know what it feels like when I'm alone with Ben and that makes me realize that Maria isn't a threat to me, nor will she ever be.

Meg: Oooohhh, okay, Ben, I see the plan there. Yeah.
Ben: I'm the plan, I'm just reading the paper!
Meg: (moves his feet off the table) You (takes the paper away from him) cannot be (sits at his lap) at my bridal shower.
Ben: What if I insist?
Meg: Well, then all the women will tease you and make fun of you until you crawl out of here on your hands and knees. [Ben laughs out loud just so wonderfully!!!]
Ben: But I have to learn your secrets, Meg.
Meg: I have no secrets, I promise.

Ben: (to Antonio) It's all about Meg now. The way it should be.

At Meg's wedding shower the girls are playing who knows Ben the best:
Meg:  Well, I guess I don't know everything about Ben.
Gabi:  That's what the honeymoon is for.

Sara: (to Meg) You have this totally  hot amazing guy who is crazy in love with you!

Sara: (to Meg) You are going to be amazingly, sickeningly happy every day for the rest of your life.

Ben crawled into his bed thinking that Meg was in it -- it was Dana:
Ben: (to Meg) That would have been a memorable first meeting.

Ben: I feel like Mama and Papa bear, someone's sleeping in our bed. Which is really too bad.
Meg: Why is that?
Ben: Well, I was just thinking how romantic it might be to sweep my bride to be up in my arms, carry her upstairs and make mad passionate love to her.
Meg:  Hmmmm, I like the way you think, but...
Ben:  But, it's not going to be anything more than a thought right now.
Meg:  No, but I want you to hold that thought.

Ben: Meg, moonlight, stars. I think this calls for a bottle of wine.

Meg: You know, that's the second time you've mistaken her for me. Should I be woried?
Ben: I don't think so. There's only one woman in the world for me.

Meg wakes up early. Ben finds her in the studio, walks up to her and kisses her:
Ben: That's what you get for getting out of bed so early in the morning.
Meg: Well, if that is punishment, then I think I'll get out of bed early every morning.

Meg: Ben didn't think that he would ever love again.
Dana: But he did. And to live through a tragedy like that he is so lucky that he's found someone like you.
Meg: We're both lucky.

Meg: I swear, the closer the wedding gets, the crazier I get.
Casey: Well, that's the lack of oxygen. You're too happy to breathe.

Meg leaves to spend her last night before the wedding in her parents' house:
Ben: So, you're really leaving me.
Meg: Tonight and never ever again.

Meg: Ben, we just have to love each other as much as we can for as long as we can. (They kiss)
Ben: I'll be dreaming of you tonight.
Meg: And I'll dream of you.

Hank: I just wanted you to know that, well,  I think that Ben is a great guy. And I know that he really loves you and he's gonna be true to you.
Meg: I know, thank you, daddy. Sometimes I think that the best thing that ever happened to me was finding out that Tim was cheating on me before the wedding. If I'd never left I'd never would have found Ben. The man I was supposed to be with all along.

Ben: So, the girl is ill. She's got no memory of her past and that's when you decide she'd be a good person to use to split up Meg and me. Well, that's a hell of an idea, Tim.
Tim: Yeah, what can I say, Ben? I was desperate.
Ben: Desperate? Try... try sick. You know when I get back from my honeymoon with the woman you lost because of a similar integrity deficiency we're gonna talk about this you and me.

Annie: You're so snug, aren't you?
Meg: No, I'm confident. I'm confident that Ben loves me.

Annie: You're so sure about everything, aren't you, Meg?
Meg: I am sure that nothing can come between what Ben and I share.

Casey: Love like that, Ben, doesn't come or let go easily. And that's why you're really lucky, you know, to find it again. With Meg.
Ben: Trust me, I realize what I have.

Casey manages to get to the Cummings' house (to tell Meg that Ben is waiting for her outside) during the "girls only" pre-wedding night:
Hank: Look who's here. Mr. Mission Impossible.

Casey: Hey, was that a... was that Meg leaving?
Joan: Oh, she's just walking her friend Dana out, she'll be right back.
Casey: You never know. She could get caught up in the moonlight. Or other things.

Meg meets Ben at the gazebo:
Meg: So, to what do I owe the pleasure of this gift?
Ben: Hello stranger. I just wanted to see you one last time before the morning. (he kisses her hands)
Meg: Just think, this time tomorrow we will be standing up at the altar exchanging our vows.
Ben: My beautiful wife. It's finally gonna happen.

Ben: We're getting married tomorrow and I'll be damned if we're not gonna be the two happiest people on this planet. (Meg laughs) I love you, Meg, no matter what Annie says. I don't want you to doubt that. Ever.

Meg: I wish that we could stay like this forever.
Ben: Can anyone even mind if we didn't show up for our wedding tomorrow?
Meg: You know what I mean.
Ben: I know what you mean.
Meg: Promise me that we will be together forever.
Ben: I promise.

Tim: Are you surprised that we had schools in Kansas?
Annie: Oh, did you go?
Tim: Yeah, I did, I even graduated from one.

It's early morning of the Wedding day. Joan is "a tad" nervous:
Joan: Meg! You're getting married!!!
Meg: I'm coming!
Hank: Joanie, honey, give her a minute to breathe.
Joan: Honey, she doesn't have a minute. I was up half the night organizing the list of things that have to be done before the ceremony. Meg!!!
Hank: (to Sara) Try whole night.

Meg: Okay, what is the first thing we need to do on this list?
Joan: Hug your mother.

Joan: Sweetheart, I just can't believe this day is finally here.
Meg: Oh, it was worth waiting for. Ben is the man I've been dreaming of before I even knew that there was a Ben!
Sara: Well, I can tell you: this is definitely a face worth dreaming about.

Ben: You're missing the point, Annie. The point is I think there's more to what you said than Meg realized. More behind it than the simple spite.
Annie: I don't know what you're talking about.
Ben: I think you do. Bottom line, Annie. I'll give you one chance to answer me honestly "yes" or "no". Are you a part of this plan of Tim's involving Maria?
Annie: Ben, what makes you think...?
Ben: Because he admitted as much when I confronted him, that's what and I would have thought you owed me the same bloody courtesy!

Annie: I'm just hoping that maybe in the long run you'll find happiness again.
Ben: Annie, I have found happiness again. With Meg.

Annie: I'm not sure that you're ready to know the truth.
Ben: I'm not sure I'm ready for your games morelike.

Meg drops in to her and Ben's house and is surprised to see Annie there:
Ben: Oh, Annie just came by to wish us luck. Isn't that right, Annie?
Annie: Right. Luck and more luck.
Ben:(putting his arms around Meg and drawing her closer) Well, I think, I've got more luck, Annie,  right here.

Ben and Meg get "a bit" caught up in each other:
Ben: I'm sorry, Annie.
Annie: No, no, don't be silly, really, it's your wedding day and I need to freshen up, so you go back to whatever it is you're doing. Don't mind me.
Meg: Don't worry, we won't.

Meg panics when she learns that there is a problem with her wedding dress:
Ben: Meg, as far as I'm concerned I'd marry you wearing a shopping bag.

Meg: Mom, this is my wedding dress. This could ruin my entire wedding!
Hank: No, it won't, no, it won't. I guarantee, this is gonna be the happiest damn day of your life, all right?

Ben confronts Annie about his portrait. Annie comes up with a lousy excuse:
Ben: Spare me the history, Annie. Why did you bring it?
Annie: I thought it would make a... a sweet Christmas present, I mean, wedding present.
Ben: Sweet........  WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING???!!! To think I actually started to have faith in you again! You know, I opened up to you out of respect for the friendship we once had, and what do you bring me? This? Proof that you will never change!
Annie: Ben, I swear, there is no agenda.
Ben: Your middle name is agenda! You and Tim were pathetic stirring up these memories of Maria. Maria is gone! I am marrying Meg today. And there's not a damn thing either one of you can do about it!
Annie: Tell that to Tim. Because I've moved on. I'm innocent.
Ben: No, what you are is a liar. You know, I'll give you a piece of advice, Annie. If you ever wanna be a part of my life, start accepting Meg. We are package deal! Am I clear?
Annie: I was... It was clear a year ago, Ben. Now just calm down.
Ben: I am perfectly calm. [He wasn't] If you wanna see me un-calm you should start playing with my life again. Now get out!
Annie: Please, wait.
Ben: Out!

Ben: Meg, I have something to show you first. I was going to wait till later, but you have the way of eroding man's willpower.

Meg: My pearls.
Ben: Well, they did say they'd be ready for you to wear them down the aisle tonight.
Meg: Ben, they're absolutely... (she gets all teary) [I did, too] They're beautiful. Thank you so much.
Ben: No, thank you. For giving me my life back. I mean, two years ago when you came into town with that backpack of yours and that incredible smile, well, everything changed. My whole world opened up. My heart opened up. And, well, now it's... It's yours. Forever. Meg Cummings, may I put these on you, my best friend and wife to be?

Meg: So, how does it look?
Ben: Well, truthfully? They almost look as good as you.

Carmen: The signs are everywhere! Don't tell me you haven't noticed!
Ben: The only sign I see here is marked "exit". Why won't you use it?

Meg: Your wish for Maria to be alive is coming through in your cards. And that's why you don't want Ben to move on. And it's not fair to him and it's not fair to me!
Carmen: Meg, you're blinded by love!
Meg: So are you! I am sorry your daughter is dead and I know that's a hard thing for a mother to accept, but I trust my instincts. Just as much as you do. And they tell me that I am destined to be with Ben. And nothing, not even a mother's grief can stop us from getting married.

Tim: I got an idea. Come on, come on.
Annie: Where are we going?
Tim: Don't worry, trust me.
Annie: Famous last words.

Ben: Why are you so selfish?
Carmen: Selfish? You're the one who's insisting on your own happiness when other people will be hurt by your actions.
Ben: I am actually trying to heal and move on, but you're just tearing the wound open!
Carmen: I'm just trying to ensure your future isn't cursed.
Ben: Cursed? You're forgetting I'm not a believer. But unfortunately Meg is. I told you what this... this psycho bible of yours does to her!
Carmen: I had to tell her what I saw!
Ben: Oh, to hell with the damage.
Carmen: I'm preventing damage!
Ben: Listen, I have tried to be patient with you. But you just seem determined to keep Maria alive!
Carmen: Maria IS alive!
Ben: She's dead, damn it, dead! And I will not let you or her memory interfere with Meg's wedding day!
Carmen: I'd rather ruin a wedding day than see all your lives ruined.
Ben: Listen, Carmen, I'm telling you to keep your bloody mouth shut, or so help me God, I'll...!!! [Unfortunately Ricardo came before Ben could finish. What a shame, don't you think?]

Meg: God! Ben and I just want a little bit of peace and happiness. Is that too much to ask?
Sara: No. You are going to get your wish. You're gonna have the wedding of your dreams and you're gonna have a marriage that's gonna last your whole life.

Ricardo asks Ben why is he so mad at his mother:
Ben: Why don't you ask her, Ricardo? Ask her why she wouldn't let Maria rest in peace. Or why she can't survive without making everyone's life as miserable as she is? Or ask your dear mother why she turned up at my fiancee's doorstep on her wedding day and declared that the faiths have foretold that her wedding was not meant to be?!!! The most important day of her life!
Ricardo: Mama?
Ben: Go ahead, ask her, Ricardo. Maybe you might understand why I am just a tad upset. You know, I meant every word I said here today, Carmen. Consider yourself warned.

Meg: What is with these people???

Sara: This isn't gonna be like Tim and Meg's wedding. The groom won't be having an affair with the maid of honour for one thing.
Joan: No, no, and despite Madam Torress' visit I still feel that Ben and Meg are just meant to be together.

Sara: Meg, I know, that I'm not exactly a role model in the romance department, but there is one thing that I do know. You have to be a one hundred percent sure you're gonna go through with this.
Meg: Oh, I'm sure. And Ben is sure. It's just everyone else who seems to have the problem
Sara:  Yeah, but look who we're talking about. I mean, they're bunch of nuts, rejects from Psychic Friends Channel. And what? Some girl who thinks that the idea of a dream wedding is a Vegas trip to save her stock options.

Sara: Okay. Repeat after me. "It's my wedding day."
Meg: It's my wedding day.
Sara: "And I'm gonna be Mrs. Ben Evans, nothing's gonna stop me."
Meg: And I'm gonna be Mrs. Ben Evans. Nothing is going to stop me.
Sara: How does that feel?
Meg: Well, it feels like everyone can kiss my wedding ring!

Ben looks at the wedding rings:
Ben: We've been to hell and back, Meg. It'll just make our being married that much sweeter. We've beaten the odds. All of them.

Meg is putting on her make-up:
Gabi: It's really too bad she's so plain looking.
Vanessa: Such a nice girl, but so ordinary.

Ben: (to Quint) I'm marrying Meg today. No matter what you think you saw.

Vanessa: So, do we have all "old, new, borrowed, blue" stuff in order?
Meg: Well, the something blue is the garter from my mom.
Gabi: Sexy!
Joan: Well, I have my moments. Just ask Hank.

Meg: Oh, you guys! I have the best friends and family in the entire world.
Joan: Oh, sweetie, you said: No crying!
Meg: Well, I lied!

Fatherly-daughterly talk:
Joan: Your father wants to talk to you alone just for a few minutes.
Meg: I'm not gonna be able to keep my mascara on for more than five minutes, am I?
Hank: I'm not gonna make you cry, sweetie. (Meg gets all teary) Well, I guess I can't keep every promise I made to you.
Meg: You've kept every other one.
Hank: It's because you make me wanna be the best father I can be, sweetie. You always have and you do now.
Meg: Nothing's gonna change.
Hank: Yes, it will, yes, it will, sweetie. That's why I wanna have this talk with you today. Everything is gonna be different now. But that's the way it's supposed to be. You'll always be my little girl. And I'll always keep your memory right here. (he points to his heart)
Meg: Dad...
Hank: I'm so proud of you. I'm so proud of the way that you followed your heart to Ben. And the way that you love him.
Meg: Well, I had pretty amazing teachers.
Hank: And we have an amazing daughter.

Motherly-daughterly talk:
Joan: Are you all right?
Meg: I don't know how much more of this I can take right now.
Joan: Oh, honey. This is the day you've looked forward to for your whole life.
Meg: Mom?
Joan: Yes, sweetie?
Meg: Thank you.
Joan: For what?
Meg: I don't know. For being the most incredible mom in the entire world.
Joan: I was just your average good mom, nothing out of the ordinary.
Meg: Extraordinary. And don't argue with me about that.
Joan: Okay, I won't.
Meg: When I was gonna marry Tim and I found him with Connie, I...
Joan: No, sweetie, don't think about that today.
Meg: I was so confused. And you helped me see what I had to do for me. You told me how much you regretted never following your dream.
Joan: To ride through Paris in a red convertible with the wind blowing through my hair?
Meg: And you convinced me to do what you didn't get to do. To go after your dream. Ben.
Joan: You were meant to be together, sweetie. That's all.
Meg: Yeah. That's all.

Strictly Fatherly talk:
Meg: Antonio, you are performing my wedding. With your former brother-in-law. Your mother doesn't approve, your brother isn't too thrilled, but you put all that aside just because we ask you a favor.
Antonio: I believe love should be honored, Meg. And I think that love is... it's more rare that people realize. And when I see the real thing I feel privileged to be asked to sanctify it before God.

Ben: (to Tim and Annie) Both of you, listen to me. I am marrying Meg Cummings today. She is the love of my life. She is the woman I've waited for since I lost Maria. And she well deserved to let Maria go, I have. (to Tim) And you, go to hell. Alone. If you come anywhere near my wedding, I'll probably send you there myself.

Meg:(to Sara) Speaking of Ben, have you seen him? Does he look just as handsome as ever? [Better!]

Casey: What do you say we'd get you married?
Ben: Nothing I'd like more.

Right before the ceremony Meg goes to talk to Ben in his dressing room:
Meg: No, Ben, don't. I don't want you to see me in my dress before I walk down the aisle.
Ben: Meg?
Meg: I knew that you'd be here. I knew you'd be here on time. I knew that because I know you.
Ben: I'm sorry if I worried you even for a minute.
Meg: I just want you to know that I have never been more happy, and more at peace with myself then I am right this second, and I can't wait to start our life together because I have faith in you, I have faith in your love, and I will honor and cherish you for the rest of my life, and nothing can change that.
Ben: Meg, I... I love you more than anything on earth, and I always will.
Meg: I love you too.

The Wedding:

Hank gives Meg to Ben at the altar:
Hank: Take good care of her.
Ben: You've got my word on it.

Bette: (to Joan, when she finished reading the Bible) Thanks. For ruining my mascara.

Carmen:(interrupts the ceremony) If someone doesn't stop this wedding from taking place, there'll be a huge price to pay!
Ben: You'll be the one paying the price if you don't get out of here!

Meg: No more delays, no more interruptions. I'm gonna marry the man that I love right this minute and nothing, NOTHING can get in the way of that.

Hank: (after Tim interrupted the wedding) Casey, what is going on?
Casey: I think this is personal between Tim and Ben and I think Ben wasn't allowing any more interruptions.
[I always said Casey was a smart guy]

Bette: (to Gregory) Why does so many people wanna keep these two from getting married?

Ben: You can't stop testing me, can you, Tim? Did I or did I not tell you at the marina that I would kill you if you came here?
Tim: Well, I'm still breathing.
Ben: For the time being. So, you ruined your own wedding to Meg and now you wanna ruin mine?
Tim: Yeah, well, I didn't marry Meg and neither will you. You see, Ben, you're not gonna marry Meg today, because I got something for you.
Ben: Oh, you have?
Tim: Yeah.
Ben: That's interesting. Cause I have something I've been meaning to give you, too, Tim. [ OOOUUUCH!!! And YESSSSSSSS!!!!!!]

Meg: What did Tim want?
Ben: Something he can't have.

Bette: Poopsie? Why is Flex carrying Tim out like a sack of potatoes? And why are vous smacked in the middle of it?

Ben: I so much wanted today to be perfect for you, Meg.
Meg: It IS perfect. You are here and I'm ready. (...) Now marry me already!

Casey: You're a looser, Annie!
Annie: What did you call me?
Casey: I called you a looser! Because only a looser would stoop so low. You embarrass yourself and then you still have the audacity to defend yourself against someone who's there and knows the truth?!
Annie: You're wrong.
Casey: I doubt it. And if you two even show your faces in there again, I'll tie you up to keep you out of the chapel. House of the Lord or not.

Ben: What we share is stronger and more powerful than any thing in this world, or anyone in it can throw at us.  Now, I've never been one to wear my heart on my sleeve,  but you've changed me, Meg, you've... you've made me want to go on with my life, not just go through it, but... but live it, live every second of it. Because your love inspires that in me. It's made me love in the way I never thought I would. It's made me stop looking, and stop wanting, and start celebrating.  Because every moment with you is a joy to me.  You take away my fear, Meg, you make me believe in love, and I never will let anyone, or anything take that away from either of us. I love you, Meg.  NOW, marry me.

Take this ring as a sign of my love and fidelity
in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Meg: You are everything I have ever hoped for in a partner, and you've never let me down.  I feel safer in your love then I do on any other place on earth.  We were meant to find each other, we were meant to be together , and I will love you more and more, every day for the rest of our lives.

Antonio:  It is with great pleasure, and relief, that I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss each other, please. (Ben&Meg kiss) I present to you, for the first time as husband and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Evans.

The Reception:

Meg: Oh, mom, I am so happy I can hardly stand it.

Annie:(to unconscious Tim) You know, I am smarter than this. When I wanna get something done I'm like Helen of Troy. (???) Now, I let you lead me around on this one and look where it got us, okay? My best friend is M.I.A. , her husband married Mary, Queen of Kansas, and look at you, you're lying here like a sack of potatoes from the old country. Oh, and by the way, everyone was just beaming when they came out of the chapel. It was just like, it was like a (????).! [help me with this one please!!!]

Tim: Annie. Is it over? With... The wedding? Where's the wedding? It's gotta be...
Annie: No, honey, they're probably on their honeymoon by now.
Tim: No.
Annie: Yes.
Tim:The marriage is not gonna last, anyway, so...
Annie: What are you dreaming or delirious , or both?

Ben: And how am I to explain that my bride would rather spend time with her girlfriends than with her darting husband?

Meg dances with Hank:
Meg: Dad, what is it?
Hank: Oh, I was just thinking how parents always dream of their children growing up and finding someone to love. Make them happy, as happy as Ben makes you.

Ben cuts in:
Ben: Hope you don't mind if she teaches me a move or two, Hank?
Hank: You're here to take her away already, well, okay.
Ben: With your permission.
Hank: Sure. Just stay happy, huh? And you make sure that she does.
Ben: I'll do my best. Every minute.

Meg:(to Ben) We're finally married. And it was everything I hoped it would be. This is the happiest day of my life.

Casey: So, are your dreams coming true?
Meg: You know they are, Casey.

Casey: You followed your dreams across the country Meg.  You weren't afraid.  And those dreams, well, they brought you to Ben, and a lifetime of happiness to come. Ben, you didn't let your past blind you.  You saw Meg for the precious, unique woman she is, and I know you will always cherish her. What you found in each other is a rare and beautiful thing Mr. and Mrs. Evans. May we all find their kind of deep, sweet and boundless love in our own lives. (He raises his glass)  To Ben and Meg.
Sara:  Wait, wait, wait. The Maid of  Honor gets the last word.  I know getting to this day has not been easy, but I guess anything worth having is certainly worth working for.  Every thing that you've gone through has made your love deeper and stronger and I know that it is going to last forever. Now, I love you, both.
Casey:  To the bride and groom,  Mr. and Mrs. Evans.

Ben:  There's one toast  I'd like to make and that's to my beautiful wife. From the moment I met you, everyday has been one glorious surprise after another.  I didn't know I was capable of being any happier then I was the day you agreed to marry me, but let me tell you, nothing compares to what I'm feeling right now. I know no one knows what the future holds, but one thing I am sure of,  and that's our love will only grow stronger, every day, for as long as we live.  Thank you Meg Evans for making me the happiest man alive.
