Ben: Listen, if you don't mind, I'm gonna go out. Get some fresh air. You'll be okay?
Meg: Only if you will be.

Meg: That didn't take you very long.
Ben: Well, I don't like being away from you.

Tim: I wish I could... I wish I could take you away from here. To forget about... But I'm not gonna be able to take anyone anywhere for a while. And you got Ben now to take care of you.
Meg: Yeah, but he's blaming himself for everything, he's blaming himself for everything Derek did. And he was so terrific. I mean, he was almost killed eight or nine times and he just wouldn't stop until he got to me. I don't think anyone has ever loved me before like that. Tim, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said anything...
Tim: No, I'm glad , Meg. That he loves you that much. And I'm glad he brought you home.

Meg: I have to tell him and I really HAVE been trying to find the right time to and I just... I... I can't... I... I... I can't seem to find it...
Sara: Look, there isn't gonna be a right time. I mean, I'm really... What good is it gonna do anyway?
Meg: I can't NOT tell him!
Sara: Why not?
Meg: Because. Because of Maria. Ben thought that for years she was the one who slept with Derek and now it was me! I'm the one who slept with Derek!
Sara: Meg, I think that Ben would understand.
Meg:(crying...) No, you know what don't you understand? Ben trusted maria with his whole heart! And Derek found some way to destroy that, he found some way to just destroy their connection. And now I'm afraid if I'm not honest with him and I am not COMPLETELY honest with him then that will ruin the connection that Ben and I have!

Sara: Oh-oh! I would not leave the two of them (Tim and Meg)  alone in there if I were you. I've known Tim to turn around a losing game before.
Ben: Yeah, Meg told me what an expert Tim is on playing the field. Lucky for me she never considered it one of his more admirable qualities.

Sara:(as Joan is hugging Meg endlessly) Well, you'd think it's the first time you'd seen each other since Meg got back.
Joan: Just wanna make sure she's really here.
Meg: Well, as far as I'm concerned you can hold on as long as you want.
Hank: Hey, did you save something for your old man?
Meg:(hugs him) Of course, I did.
Hank: Uh, that's perfect.
Ben: Well, as long as the hugs are going around... (he takes Meg into his arms)
Meg: Well, now I really feel like Dorothy From Kansas. Back at home, where I belong.
Casey: With all the people who love you.
Ben: You just make sure you never go away again.
Meg: You either.

Ben: Thanks to my brother I'm sure there are a few things you have to get behind you as well.
Meg: Yeah, a few.
Ben: What do you say we work on that? Moving on with our lives.
Meg: There is nothing that I would love more.

Ben: Meg, what is it? What's wrong?
Meg: Ben, I just... I just don't feel safe when I'm away from you.
Ben: Well, you're safe now. And I'm not gonna let you be hurt again.

Meg: More than anything, I want to be here with you and get lost in you.

Meg looks at Ben with love in her eyes and smile on her face.
Ben: What?
Meg: You were really great with my mom and dad back there.
Ben: What did you expect for the family?

Ben: You know, Meg, Sara is very different person from you, but there is one family trait you both share. You both put taking care of yourselves aside in order to protect the people close to you.
Meg: I guess you're right. We both do that.
Ben: Well, I'm glad we saw it today. Because maybe it will help you tell me whatever it is you were afraid to tell me earlier.
Meg: I don't want us to have any secrets between us.
Ben: Then don't. Tell me.
Meg: Ben, it's about... Derek and me... He...
Ben: It's okay, Meg. I know.
Meg: You do?
Ben: Yes, I do. I know how upset you've been. I'm assuming, of course, what you're trying to tell me is you've slept with my brother.
Meg bursts into tears and my heart is breaking, but what else is new these times...?
Meg: Ben, I am SO sorry...
Ben: Hey...
Meg: Ben, I swear, it happened only once! Please, forgive me, please! I'm so sorry... I swear, I swear...
Ben: Meg, Meg, you didn't even know I had a twin. You can't blame yourself for that!
Meg: But I do! I knew something was wrong from the beginning. And the only, only reason I slept with Derek was to make things right between us. To get back what we had lost and it just made it worse!
Ben: Meg, please, I could see what my brother's put you through and I hate to see you hurt like this...
Meg: But I'm worried about you, about us. I know what happened when you thought Maria slept with Derek. It ruined everything! Nothing was ever the same.
Ben: This isn't the same, Meg! Don't let Derek get in the way of what we have. I love you now more than I ever did. I didn't know how much I could love someone. You believe that, don't you?
Meg: I wish I could, I wish I could, but how can I?
Ben: Meg, all that matters is what we feel for each other. How every second we think about Derek is a victory for him. Don't let that happen, let it go.
Meg: I want that SO, SO much! But I'm so scared that he's always gonna be there between us, even when we're alone, making love.
Ben: Only if you let it happen. Trust what we have and he can't get in the way.
Meg: I do believe in us. But it's not gonna be that easy, it's not gonna be as easy as you think.
Ben: We'll just have to help each other out.
Meg: But is that enough? Are we enough? (the doorbell rings)
Ben: We are more than enough. Now why don't you get rid of whoever's at the door?
Meg: Okay, I won't be long. Ben, I really DO, I really DO believe in us. Believe that, please...
Ben: With all my heart. (when Meg is gone) With all my heart, Meg, I swear it. I am not gonna let Derek destroy our happiness. I'm not gonna let what he did to me and Maria happen again. NOT to us.

Ben and Meg are at Trey's baptism party:
Ben: I'm afraid we have to leave.
Meg: Why? What's wrong?
Ben: I'll put you in when we get there. Just a minor emergency.[Oh, emergency it was , all right! I thought my heart was gonna race out of my chest! Fanning myself didn't help, Miranda. Nor cold showers, Sheila!]

Meg: So, what's the emergency?
Ben:( opening the door to their bedroom) This. We're the emergency, Meg. I mean, between filling out the report for the police and every other interested party and all the other interruptions there hasn't really been any time for us.
Meg: I know.
Ben: Well, that's gonna stop now. I want you, Meg. More than anything.
Meg: I want that, too.
Ben: You just remember our love is so strong it can get us through anything. (...) From now on it is just you and me. I'm gonna prove it to you. Right now. And every day for the rest of our lives.

Ben: Is something wrong?
Meg: What can be wrong? I'm alone finally with the man I love more than life itself.

The first shockwave hits Sunset Beach:
Meg: Well, did the earth move for you, too?
Ben: Even without the earthquake.

Meg: Morning.
Ben: Morning. Did you sleep well?
Meg: You could say that. And you?
Ben: When I wasn't too busy with other things.[ You know, the very suggestion made me hot all over again!!!]

Ben: Look, Tim. I know you still have feelings for Meg.
Tim: Yeah, and so what if I do?
Ben: And I appreciate everything you've done for her. Trying to protect her from Derek the way you did.
Tim: But?
Ben: My brother's gone and Meg is safe. And I'm the one who's gonna be keeping her that way.

Tim: If I didn't got caught cheating with Meg's maid of honor we'd be married and still living in Kansas.
Ben: Well, no offense, but I'm happier the way things turned out.

[Now, remember what I said about my love for Ben&Tim confrontations? This one below was definitely the best one so far. I absolutely LOVED the tension between the two in those scenes and I re-watch them very often for the sole reason of watching that tension building up and exploding every here and there. Plus, wasn't it fun how they trashed the room throwing in anger pieces of furniture around? I was ROTFLOL all the time!!! Dax and Clive outdid themselves in these scenes. Enjoy!]

Ben: Tim, we both wanna find Meg.
Tim: Then help me out, Ben, all right? Because what you've already put her through I don't know if she can handle this, man.
Ben: And just what is that supposed to mean? All I've put her through?
Tim: Isn't that obvious, Ben?(...)
Ben: What exactly are you accusing me of?
Tim: Just that you have more skeletons, Ben, in your closet than anyone I've ever known!
Ben: Do I now?
Tim: Yeah, you do! And Meg is the one who has to suffer the consequences. All because you couldn't be upfront with her about any of them!
Ben: We all make mistakes, Tim!
Tim: Mistakes, Ben? Mistakes?! ... is a wonderful thing, isn't it? Meg went through hell with this nut case brother of yours, all because you left out a few important details!
Ben: Are you finished?
Tim: No! What kind of a weirdo doesn't tell his own fiancee that he had an identical twin?
Ben: There are reasons, but this is NOT a time to discuss them!
Tim: That's great, yeah, that's great, Ben. You know what? You never wanted to discuss anything! If you would've  just told Meg about Derek, maybe none of all this stuff that's been going on around here lately would've ever happened! Your brother tokk five lives, man!
Ben: I don't need you to remind me, thank you! Especially now, that he's dead and he's no longer a threat to you or anyone else.
Tim: Oh, okay. So, let's just forget about all that unpleasantness as though it never happened. Just like you tried to forget about what happened to your dead wife, right?
Ben: I'll say it again, Tim! My dead wife is none of your business, understand?!
Tim: Here's what I understand, Ben. Once a liar, always a liar. And I know that there are these demons that are just waiting to come out of your past. This Maria business - it's not nearly over. Not yet.
Ben: All right, Tim! What about this Maria business? You know nothing about my relationship with her or Meg for that matter!
Tim: I know enough, Ben! Like how creeped out she was, not to mention how hurt Meg was when all you do is surround and soak over Maria night and day and shut her out!
Ben: Tim, we all deal with things differently! I tried...!
Tim: You tried, Ben? You kept Meg at arm's length and you made her think like she almost did something wrong! Until she left you and went running back to Kansas...!
Ben: Because of you and you damn well know it!!! You and Annie and your insidious little machinations! You did everything you could to make her think I wasn't over Maria!
Tim: Woo, woo, wait a second, Ben. All we did was just shine a light on it for her. It was already there and thanks to you!
Ben: Oh, me, was it really?
Tim: Yeah! You know, Ben, you got these dark secrets, you got these hidden rooms and you walk around this town like some brooding villain out of a... out of a novel!
Ben: A novel? Oh, I'm impressed, Tim. I thought the only thing you read were the sports pages!

Meg: Sure, you wanna know about me? Go ahead. Ask me anything.
Dana: You... You mentioned a fiancé.
Meg: Yeah. Gosh, I don't know where to start. He is so... He is so wonderful and I just... I love him to death.

Dana: Tell me more about Ben.
Meg: Oh, well, I already told you that he was wonderful. And, oh, we met over the Internet. (...) That's how Ben and I met and fell in love. By writing to each other we figured how... how much we had in common, but it was more than that. There were, I don't know something special, some sort of special connection. Even from the beginning. I remember how my heart used to skip a beat every time I would log onto the computer and hear those three little words...
Dana: I love you.
Meg: No, no. You Have Mail.

Dana:(to Meg) That is an amazing love story!

Ben: It's seems, Tim, I'm just wasting my time, because you are the same jealous, slimy, absurd little punk you always were, who wasn't happy unless he was causing trouble between Meg and me. Well, it's gotta stop. Now.
Tim: Easy, Ben. We wouldn't want you to snap. Because we all know what happens when the Evans boys get mad, don't we?
Ben: You better keep at distance then, don't you?
Tim: You know what's this about, Ben? Genetics.

Ben: Hey, come on, it's gonna be okay.
Meg: How do you know that? I... I just have this terrible feeling that something's gonna happen.
Ben: Well, I'm not surprised after everything we've been through, but we've survived it. All of it. We'll survive this, too.
Meg: I don't know what I would do without you.
Ben: We just have to make sure you won't have to find out.

Meg: God, I wish you could be at two places at once.
Ben: So do I. But I can't. The place I really need to be right now is San Francisco. The machine isn't gonna fly itself down here.
Meg: Well, promise me, swear that you'll come back to me.
Ben: I swear.
Meg: I love you.
Ben: I love you, too. (and they kiss...)

Dana: You two are something amazing, you know what I mean? He seems to be such a romantic man.
Meg: He's kind and giving and selfless.
Dana: How many people would fly to another city and track down medical equipment for your dad?
Meg: That's what Ben is. He is always helping people even if they don't deserve it.

Ben comes back from San Francisco with the machine which would help Hank
Joan: Meg, stand aside so I can hug this man.

Tyus: I've got some good news about Hank. (...) He regained consciousness.
Tim: Meg must be thrilled. What happened?
Tyus: Ben happened. He brought some equipment down from...
Tim: From San Francisco. (to Dana) Didn't I tell you that Ben would save the day?

Joan: If I ask you how you feel will you tell me the truth?
Hank: Sure. I feel great. Knowing they're not going in playing with my brain.  My doctor tells me I have my future son in law to thank for that.
Ben: Well, consider it a belated Father's Day gift. Besides, I do need to keep on your daughter's good side and for some unexplained reason she still likes you.

Hank: Ben.
Ben: Hank.
Hank: Looks like I'm gonna be here for a while. Keep an eye on them, will you?
Ben: Yeah, I'll do my best. I'm greateful I can.

Dana:(to Tim) I'm sorry, I know you still care for Meg. But anyone who hears the way that she talks about Ben can see how much she loves him.[You should listen to your own advice.]

Meg: How can you be so confident with all this chaos around us?
Ben: Because you and I have had more than a fair share of tragedy and if there's any justice in this world we're all due for some good fortune.

Ricardo reminds Ben that Maria died on the sea, too:
Ben: Listen, I'm not responsible for what happened to you and Antonio. Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not in the habit of causing tidal waves.

Ben: How did it go with your dad?
Meg: Just hold me.
Ben: Hey, we're gonna find her (Sara), Meg. If it's the last thing I do, we'll find her.
Meg: I don't know what I'd do without you.

Bette: It's moi! Alive and kicking, honey.
Ben: Bette, I just saw you being interviewed on the news.
Bette: Oh, well. (They hug) Now, did I look yucky or what?
Ben: Oh...
Bette: Oh, I did, I did. It was such an ordeal on that ship. I mean, my hair died, my dress was a mess, but I kept the jewels!

Ben tells Bette about Hank's condition:
Bette: Hank? Oh, what happened to that good-looking piece of corn bread?

Ben: Don't tell me between the tidal wave and the ship flipping out you met some handsome stranger and you're expecting him any moment!
Bette: Actually, no. No, I ran into my daughter on that cruise and I'm expecting HER.
Ben: Your daughter?!
Bette: Yes, you know what happens between a man and a woman 50% of the time when they're doing the wild thing, honey?

Ben: Would you terribly mind if we changed the subject?
Bette: Not just yet. I think there's aomething I need to ask you, Mr. Evans.
Ben: You may have a question, but I'm not sure I'll give you an answer.
Bette: Well, come on now, let's just give it a shot here, okay? Where do you live?
Ben: What do you mean?
Bette: Just come on, where do you live?
Ben: Sunset Beach, California.
Bette: Bingo! Sunset Beach, California, summer 1998. Not summer of 19993. You're living right here in the present.. With moi, your naughty next door neighbour. With Meg Cummings, your very beautiful and loving fiancee, right? Ben, honey, Maria doesn't live here anymore. You know, she doesn't have to be saved and you don't have to explain anything to her, you know.
Ben: Yeah, you're right.
Bette: Now, I wish I weren't, but that's the cards we were dealt, okay? NOW we can change the subject!
Ben: Bette, thank you.
Bette: Don't you thank me, you just, when you get home, you give Meg a big, wet, sloppy kiss and be thankful for the here and now.
Ben: You give me a big kiss first. (They kiss)
Bette: I was hoping I'd get lucky.

Meg: She [Dana] was like a beast friend to me during the quakes.
Ben: (mockingly) I thought I was your best friend.
Meg: Could I please go and help you look for Sara and Casey, please? (...)
Ben: Now, don't you know by now there's nothing I wouldn't do for you?

Meg: I'm sorry. All the pain is coming back for you.
Ben: Don't worry about it. You took my pain away, Meg.

Meg: I know what you're thinking, Ben. Maria. You've been thinking about her ever since we got to this place.
Ben: Meg...
Meg: Look, no, you don't have to explain. In the past few days you've been dealing with a lot of reminders of her and I'm sure it's gotta hurt.
Ben: You know, it amazes me sometimes how you can be so understanding.
Meg: What's not to understand? Your life with Maria is a part of you.
Ben: And I've tried very hard to put that behind me. For you, for us. But I can't pretend it never happened.
Meg: I'm not asking you to pretend it didn't happen. Who you were, what happened to you, that's what makes you who you are today. And that's the man I love, the man I will always love.
Ben: Well, I love you, too, Meg. And past or no past, I'm very clear where my future is, and that's with you.  I know that every time I look at you, every time I hold you in my arms, and I could probably stay on this island forever making new memories, but right now we...
Meg:  I know, we need to find  Casey and Sara, they're counting on us. Have I told you lately how much I love you?

Meg: I came in here to get that box of old clothes to donate to the mission and I... I saw the portrait, Ben, I...
Ben: Hey, no more sneaking around, okay? No more feeling like you're intruding.  You belong here, Meg. And I love you. Very much.
Meg: I know.
Ben: Do you?
Meg: It's not like that anymore. I'm not afraid of what you had with Maria.
Ben: Good, 'cause she isn't a threat.
Meg: I finally believe that deep down.  I know that there is a part of you that will always, always love her. You wouldn't be the man I love if you didn't. But that doesn't mean there is not a place for me, too.
Ben:  A very special place. (He draws her near and kisses her)

Dana: Oh, oh, I get it. This, this is about you not liking Ben, isn't it? Tim, you are so sweet and God knows you have been such a good friend to me, but it's kind of obvious that Meg is crazy about Ben.

Dana: Hearing Meg talk it sounds like Ben is a pretty easy guy to love.
Tim: Yeah, he's a real charmer.

Ben: I can't change what happened, Maria. You're gone. And Meg's here. She's my life now. And she always will be.

Tim: You know, you've got real problem, Ben.
Ben: Yes, you are my problem.

Dana: It must have been really hard for you. Fighting a ghost like that.
Meg: Yeah, at first I wasn't sure that I was gonna be able to do it.
Dana: What changed your mind?
Meg: Ben. I realized that even though he loved his first wife that that didn't mean he couldn't love me, too. And I know that he'll always have a special place in his heart for her, but that's okay, because I know nothing can touch the love that he feels for me. (...) When I think about everything that we've been through and how strong our love is and I know that nothing can change that.

Tim: You're gonna be sorry, you know that?
Ben: No. You'll be sorry if you ever show your face around here again. For the last time - stay out of my life!

Ben: I've been thinking about you Mrs. Evans.  Mrs. Evans. You know, I like the sound of that.
Meg: What's that supposed to mean?
Ben: Oh, I think it's about time to set our wedding date, Meg.
Meg:  Are you serious? You want to set a date for the wedding?
Ben: Well, unless you've got a problem with that.
Meg: Are you kidding me? (she jumps into his arms)
Ben: I thought you'd see it my way.  It's just that we've been through so much these past few months, Meg. You know, with Derek and the earthquake. And I don't wanna  take any more chances on something else keeping us apart. You mean to much to me.
Meg: I feel the same way.
Ben: Well then, we better not waste any more time.
Meg: No arguments here. I've always liked the idea of an early fall wedding.
Ben: Any particular date?
Meg:  No, just as soon as possible, but Mr. Evans, I will have you know, that I only intend to do this once and I want things perfect, so that may take some time.
Ben: Well, then why don't we talk about it tomorrow when we're more fresh and clear in our heads. But as for the honeymoon, that's not negotiable. I'm not waiting for that. (he grins)
Meg: You know, that's exactly what you said the night you proposed to me.  I remember it very well.
Ben: Well, then, I'm sure you'll remember this. (He picks her up and carries her up the stairs)  [ Oh, and we remember it very well, too, don't we?]
