Many years ago I was so fascinated by the majestic beauty of the roosters and fascinating colors that I almost over looked how
magnificent the hens are. My first roosters were "Rooster Cogburn and Yellow Legs" and I did not even have hens for a couple
years. They were such pets and loved to be held and would go up the stairs to my art
studio, well actually Cogburn would climb the stairs and Yellow Legs would fly up to the
balcony. They never soiled the carpet. They would recognize a new piece of art work
that was set out on the floor and would go over and look it over very
thoroughly.
So I enjoyed the company of roosters for 2 years but one day decided to get some hens for them. But I started out with three day old babies so it was a 6 month wait for the boys to pick them a
mate. That was 11 years ago and I do not have those boys anymore but do have some of the same
hens. I won several awards on photography of those boys.
I have quite a few roosters now and love them all.. It is amazing how they like to be cuddled as long as the other roosters do not see them being babied but when someone sees them they immediately sit upright and act real strong and
crow. I love roosters!

The Toy

Lyle and two hens

Jumper a mixed breed
Jumper never happy in a pen and will jump straight up and down all day
until he gets out.. He was rescued because he was unwanted.. He is gorgeous and sweet but he has very long legs and was not wanted by anyone because of
that. I think he is quite handsome with his long legs.

Coach

Morgus
Too large to fit in with my group
here. He was a surprise egg that I took from a girl who had the egg in a dish towel.. and so he grew and grew and grew.. His chest loaded with black hearts.. Sad part is I gave him to a man with a big hen for him.. A predator got him two months after he left my
home. I really wish I had just kept him; I was trying to give him a better life.. He was 2 years of age. Morgus the Magnificent was a very fine bird.
