its not the truth that hurts - truth liberates
you saw me in my dream last night
and the waves crashed
and roared
and washed all our fears away - out to sea
sinking unseen into the depths forgotten

and the tide went out - and out
pulling us with it
*
every word locked into a memory that is past and present
your heart speaking without sound the words that you hesitate to speak
unable to share
yet sharing is your life

our life

so we stumble down this life road
tripping, lost, forgetting our way but unable to give up
unable to admit that we are lost
unable to share

is it too hard to know who we are?
to hear our words, our cries, our songs?
we write this story one breath at a time, one heartbeat at a time
together, or apart

but for me there is no apart
your heart is my heart, and it cries when you cry
sings when you sing, loves when you love
dont you feel me?

so I must throw my arms around you
my heart around you, my soul around you,
sheltering you, comforting you, soothing you...
my heart, my joy

let me love you now as always, my husband
my dearest love
let me pour gods love over you, washing away your sadness
your doubts, your fear and your anger

I will not leave you, I am here, here
where you bid me be, at your side
in your heart, in your mind, in your arms, in your life
from then until then

you are my husband
I am your wife
*
in time my body repairs itself
injuries heal -
but my heart?
How much time will it take?

I think it will never heal
instead it will move over
and a new heart
a true one - will take its place
