AN ADVENTURE TO MICHIGAN INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY
Today was the beginning of our quest. To head out on the incredible
journey to MIS. The packing was complete. The only thing needed was to
load the van and head out. Our plan for today was to drive the 2.5 hours
to Kenosha WI and drop off Billy and Holly at Uncle Larry's house. Our
plan was to leave K-town in time to beat rush hour Chicago traffic. This
would not happen. We ended up waiting until 6pm and then leaving. The ride
through Chicago was unbelievably unremarkable. No stalled cars in the fast
lane. No torn twisted metal all over the road. Not even bad roads. Once on
the other side of the windy city, the speed limit changed to 70 MPH and so did
the time zone. We finally arrive in Cement City at 1am Michigan time.
Upon arrival at 1am we headed towards Juniper Hills campground, located a
stones throw from MIS. I had to stand in line 45 minutes in order to get
my car pass and wristbands and pay for my site. (who we shared with the
wonderful Sixpack) Sixpack (who is from canada ya know eh?) was kind enough to
wait up for us, and stood in line with me for a while keeping me company while
the rest of the group stood outside and chatted.
This is the wonderful Sixpack!!!!!! Aint he a sweetie?

This is what I waited 45 minutes in line for.
Next it was time to set up camp. The men put up the tent. I drank a few beers
and chatted with our wonderful Host for the weekend. Sixfan.
(he's from canada ya know eh?)
This is the wonderful Sixfan!!!!! Ain't he a sweetie
too?
So we did our introductions and had a few beers and then took a 4 hour
nap. At 6am the campers next door fired up their portable generator which
was like setting off an alarm in our camp. Next came breakfast.
Scrambled eggs, toast, coffee and orange juice. Next came beer. and
more beer and more beer. Why beer? Well our friend GoRusty and company
showed up. This is when I met Kim (sleepy6). Who is an absolute
hoot. I havent laughed so much at one time. Side splitting
stuff. He is a regular stand up comedian even when sitting on his
@$$. We managed to tear ourselves away from drinking and drag our
sorry butts to the Busch race and happy hour.

Thats GoRusty with the Budweiser can in hand. Quite the pose dont you
think?

Then it was back to camp to drink ourselves stupid. This was the night
that Chris won the coveted trophy. (farfrompukin)

Finally Race day arrives. This is my ticket. Notice the cool
safety paper they use on the ticket where Michigan Speedway is spelled.

This is Greg (who has the good taste to be a Jeff Gordon fan) Sixfan, and
