Here is the rear leaf stack with the add-a-leaf in the #3 leaf position but with still a problem.  The new leaf is now too long on the right side.

On the left side, the leafs look good.  At this point I called up Central 4WD to find out if I had the wrong leaf spring.  They confirmed I indeed had the correct part and suggested I call Rancho direct.  After explaining that I could not get the leaf to work in the #2 or the #3 position, Rancho mentioned that for Suburbans only, a portion of the leaf spring had to be cut off.  I was surprised but went ahead with their suggestion.
