Kings Peak
Kings Peak is the highest point in the state of Utah. It stands at 13,528 feet and is located in the north east corner of Utah in the Uinta mountain range. The peak is only accessible for a couple months during the summer, mainly mid-July through mid-September, due to inclement weather and snow pack, but during this stretch it is visited by roughly 5,000 people. The hiking distance varies depending on which trail is taken, but the most frequent route is roughly 29 miles round trip. The hike is long and challenging but the experience is definitely worth it all. |

Mount Timpanogos
One of the favorite hikes for college students in Utah Valley. There are two different trail heads leading to the top of Mount Timp, one starts in AF Canyon, the other just above Sundance Ski Resort. The total distance is around 9 miles to the summit so 18 miles roundtrip. Hike time is somewhere between 6-8 hours. This is a great hike for all ages, somewhat difficult as the elevation gain is around 4,600 feet but very do-able. The scenery is spectacular and the is hike envigorating. |

Lake Blanche
The Lake Blanche trail head is extremely close to the Salt Lake Valley, only 15-20 minutes up Big Cottonwood Canyon. The hike is only about 6 miles roundtrip but it does offer it's fair share of challenges. The elevation gain is only 2700 feet but the gain comes in only 3 miles of hiking thus making this a rather steep trail. At the top you'll find various lakes and excellent scenery. The fishing isn't to shabby up there either. |

Crystal Lake Trails
This is definitely a family favorite. The Mirror Lake Hwy is one of the most scenic areas in northern Utah and provides plenty of hikes, ranging from easy day hikes to difficult backpacking trips. The Crystal Lake Trailhead is located about 35 minutes from Kamas along the Mirror Lake Hwy. This trailhead offers multiple destination options. Wall Lake is just about a mile in one direction, Long Lake is about 1.5 miles in another and then you have Lilly Lake, Crystal Lake, Washington Lake and Trial Lake just a stones throw from the parking lot. A great place to spend time in the outdoors. |
