Introduction
Know whether you are joining or hosting the game. Usually, the host has advantages over the joined. If you're joining a cooperative game against computers, then you're all good. If you are joining a
2 Player game, then you're in for Hell.

For 4-8 Player games, you have allies to help you.
Allies are useful when they dedicate themselves to winning. Other allies are just troublemakers because they never work together with you, are retarded, or just plain idiots. Choose allies carefully.

Enemies are your worst nightmare. Getting knowledge out of them is the best way to prepare yourself against the unknowns. Try playing different enemies, you might learn something.

Fight in maps that are familiar to you. A prepared General is one who knows where s/he's going.
Small maps are for quick skirmishes. Large maps are for the humongous empire builders.
If you don't know what type of map you like, choose a medium-sized map.

After hours of practice, pick a side that fits you and your personality. If you're a general player, select USA. If you favor quantity, select China. If you are a great thinker, pick GLA. Of course, the precedents are just opinions formed by the JMRA Industries.

Before Playing
Here's an example of me trying find a good game:
I joined a 2 vs 2 game room in which where there was a host in it, who had an ally. I asked the host whether his ally was good at Generals and whether he actually knew him or not. The host gave me a look and replied yes to both of my questions.
Unfortunately, I didn't had any ally that was good nor someone that I knew, so I made an exit out of the room.

I came to another 2 vs 2 game room, with yet another host who had an ally. I asked the same twin questions as I have had before to the host, and he replied no to both of them. I continued asking questions. I found out that one of them was GLA, and another was USA.
