White Tiger Hapkido
World Traditional Hapkido Alliance
Hapkido is defense system utilizing joint locks, throws and basic kicks and strikes.  Hapkido is a form of hand to hand combat with weapon skills at a deputy blackbelt level.  Training includes the basic tenants of TKD for mental preparation.  Your heart must be in this training to complete it.
Our Hapkido training is governed by the World Traditional Hapkido Alliance.  It is a part of the USNTF (United States National TaeKwonDo Federation).  Uniform consists of the black dobok with the red criss cross thread design for added strength.  This makes throws and take downs easier and without the fear of tearing the light uniforms worn by TKD students.  The tiger logo on the front is red with the WTHA patch on the right.  Right sleeve sports the American Flag and the left sports the Korean Flag.  See the Store Page for more information.

Southwestern College DEMO
Basic instruction for the course is to learn the basic kicks and punches.  Only the techniques that result in strength and power.  Falls must be learned in order to keep yourself from getting hurt.  Escapes are essential if your attacked or grabbed.  Lastly 5 holds per belt are learned.  By the time one achieves deputy blackbelt they will know 45 holds.  This is only the basic training.  We have to throw it together now.
Women's Rape Seminar
First we begin by learning to block.  Then we move to R.A.T.S. or Rapid Assault Techniques System.  We then perform our holds and locks.  All together this will simulate an actual fight.  Lastly we introduce the guard for those that get thrown on the ground.  All of these systems combined should prepare someone for being attacked.  Although there is no perfect system.  This system will help defend off others until you can get away or help arrives.

White Tiger is dedicated in teaching our youth about Martial Arts.  This program allows non-martial artists of any age to come to class and learn about TaeKwonDo and Koryo Gumdo.  TaeKwonDo has its own class with optional testing for a higher belt at the end of the session.
Koryo Gumdo is mixed with the advanced class and we have a mock-tournament at the end with the competitors receiving 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place medals.  These classes are for those that know very little about martial arts.  They are an introdution style class only.  Contact the Winfield Recreation Commission for more information.

Controlled F.O.R.C.E.
Throughout my service to the Winfield Police Department, I have adopted the title of defense trainer.  Although this title is more than less personally adopted, I take training seriously.  I have been with Controlled F.O.R.C.E. since 1998.  I love the system and there is a lot of advantages in knowing it.  We utilize the training in Hapkido and I suggest if you are a law enforcement officer to consider putting Controlled Force on your tool belt.
