What can the Order do for me?
That is the wrong question to ask, it should be "what can I do for the Order?" Membership in our ranks is an opportunity to serve the Lord Jesus Christ, and your own Nation. However if you cannot serve Scotland, or your Nation, or serve the Christian Faith? also attend a minimum of at least two of our varied event meetings per Year from our yearly Calendar.
Is membership really available to all who apply?
Yes there is a laid down vetting procedure in our membership system. Also all aspirants details are fully security checked by us, as are the named references supplied to us by them. We also now ask to see photo ID as a Security Check.
We operate both an informal/formal vetting system. We also assess a persons suitability to join us, this at either; an informal/formal interview by our Vetting Committee. It also gives you the chance to decide if you wish to join us as well.
Our Rules and ByLaws very clearly state to all, that any information provided by an applicant later found to be false, or relevent information withheld by the applicant will be treated as an Instant Dismissal Offence. There is no right of appeal in these cases.
Also Names used by applicants must be the same as the legal names on your passports,or your birth certificate etc. Proof of Photo ID must be shown by all new applicants.
How are new members introduced to the Order?
Most applying as new members are invited to become an active member, or non active member, by invitation, via a current member, or applying in writing on their own. There is an inactive membership, and our Honorary membership, which is awarded to individuals who have served Scotland, or their own Country, the Order, and Humanity as well. Any of our members can propose any suitable applicant to the Honorary Order. If the majority of the membership feels it is justified. The applicant is accepted for an Honorary membership. New members are usually recommended by a personal friend, or by other means of contact, but anyone who is interested in joining our ranks is welcome to seek contact with our Admin Office. So apply now in writing, or contact us by e-mail.

Annual Oblations is an amount set by the membership of each Grand Priory every year. This is a set amount paid each year by each member, and all of our Sovereign Military Order Temple of Jerusalem. SMOTJ, also the IFA-OCMTH, SKT Grand Priories do the same method. This money is used to support the Orders Charities, the Hospital which treats all religions for free in Bethlehem, other areas in the Holy Land. We also do other Charities work via the Various Patriarchs in the Holy Land. One of our Grand Priories organises a working party annually from all our Grand Priories members, these volunteers paying their own way, go out to the Holy Land and help repair and renovate Churches, Schools, and Christian Housing. The rest of the Oblations goes to local Charitable works via our Orders local Almoners.(Charity Officer's)
Therefore it is your own personal commitment to the People of your own Nations, to us this is Scotland, and to your Christian Faith, also your active support of the Rights of Freedom, especially Freedom of Worship. Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Assembly, We are looking for active people who do good things as unpaid volunteers. Not how much will you be able to give us? As we are not like other Orders in the business of selling our Ranks and Titles to the affluent. They like all of our own Members must earn their Status in our ranks, not buy it.
Apply now to join us, use our e-mail address, or for security reasons write to: SKT-SMOTJ, Suite 12, Partick Business Centre, 3 Exeter Drive, Partick, Glasgow G11 7UY, Scotland.
