I have asked you before to contact you state rep, or congressman or woman, and let them know we don't want a mandatory helmet law. By ignoring the problem and doing nothing, we are telling them with our silence that's it's okay for them to do whatever they want. I know that those of you who always wear a helmet, think you don't need to do anything, that you are protected from the law, that you are somehow "more special" than us who don't wear helmets. YOU ARE NOT! Years ago, when this country was governed by England, and unfair taxes and laws were put into place, people were outraged and did something about it.(Boston tea Party come to mind?) What happened to us? they used to say the 70's were the "me" generation, but I think that is false. We're in the me generation now, because it's just too hard to go on the net and send an email to our government. They'll do what they want as long as we stay silent. Yes, there are people who go to Austin & Washington and fight for our rights, but we have to support them as well, by taking 5 MINUTES and finding the email or phone # of our congress man or women(Kay Bailey Hutchinson) and letting them know we are not happy with what's going on! please,send this to all the riders you know.WE can make a difference! but we have to stick together. There are not 2 groups of riders, the "helmets" and the "no helmets" ! We are all brothers & sisters who want" to be free in the wind". Well, freedom ain't free! While you're surfing on the net,shopping on ebay,or on myspace or whatever, think about going over to the search page & typing in "local government". You can also see how your rep. has voted on other issues,like more money for our vets.Don't be a woulda, shoulda, coulda.! Peace, Hollywood |

Like a lot of folks, I have a job. I work, they pay me. I
pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as they see fit.
In order to get that paycheck. . . I am required to pass a random urine
test, which I have no problem with.
What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people
who don't have to pass a urine test.
Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check, because
I have to pass one to earn it for them?
Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on
their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sit on their ass.
Could you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check? |
