Lakaya Rogers did a nice job of holding the Trojan's leading scorer, but Juneau was unable to connect on their scoring oppotunities, missing 7 lay-ups and 16 free throws. Alicia Benson led the team with 10 points, 2 blocked shots, 2 assists and 5 steals. Jessica Matthews added 7 points, 3 steals and 14 defensive plays that caused Tech turnovers. Jessica Games and Lakaya Rogers both had 4 points and 2 and 7 rebounds respectively. Nicole Evans scored a basket to complete Juneau's scoring. |

| Juneau vs. King 1-20-04 Juneau's Lady Pioneers lost to defending city champs King by a score of 111-39. Alicia Benson led Juneau with 14 points, 4 steals, 3 rebounds and 3 blocked shots. Jessica Matthews had 8 points, 3 rebounds and 3 steals. Jessica Games added 7 points and 2 rebounds. Tanyla Laxton had 3 points and 2 rebounds. Veronique Allen, Robin Linton and Kaprice Hart each had two points, and Lakaya Rogers made a free throw to complete Juneau's scoring. The Generals showed their true class when they stopped their press soon after they reached a 40 point lead; when they almost immediately listened to their coach after he told them to stop laughing at and ridiculing the Juneau squad; and when they responded to their fans chant for "100" by scoring 11 more than requested. Yep! A real class act! I hope they remember that "God don't like ugly," so they won't be surprised when some team shows them the same amount of "class." |
