Chris and EJ at the WPBA Midwest Classic On Saturday, October 13 my bud EJ and I headed out to Villa Park, IL to attend a rare Chicagoland appearance of the top 40 members of the Women's Pro Billiards Association to see them compete in one of a four day 9-Ball competition known as the WPBA Midwest Classic. This gave us two billiards enthusiasts the chance to witness the best of the best go head to head in a version of a game EJ consistently kicks my butt in. One game that night included an intense semi-final match-up between #1 ranked WPBA player, Allison Fischer and #2 player, Karen Corr. We also had the chance to meet players Jennifer Chen, Nicole Mancini and WPBA 1997 Rookie of the Year (and EJ's new pool goddess) Ming Ng. But no other person we met or saw play that night had filled us two poor shmucks with so much anticipation than the opportunity to finally meet our original pool goddess, the only reason I watch ESPN2 (I'm not much of an X-Games person), the "intensely" beautiful and talented "Black Widow", Jeanette Lee. Currently ranked at # 4 in the WPBA, we continue to watch and support Jeanette as she reclaims the # 1 position.
Yep, that's me with the
one and only, Jeanette Lee.
We have begun combing for DNA samples from the autographed paraphernalia in an attempt to make clones of Jeanette Lee.
