Arnold and Ann are found living in Columbia, Center Twp, Ohio according to the 1830 cenus. They later move to Jefferson Twp, Scioto Co. where 6 of their children are listed in the 1850 census. In 1860 Arnold, Ann and their youngest son Levi are still living in the household. After Ann died, Arnold married Nancy Mitchell Holiday. They are found in the 1870 Scioto Co, Union Twp census along with 2 of her children from a previous marriage.

Arnold is buried in Jones Family Cemetery, Valley Twp, Scioto Co Ohio and Ann is buried in Flatwoods Cemetery, Jefferson Twp, Scioto Co. Ohio.

SOPHIA F. MURPHY (Murphy, Arnold B.) born June 11, 1838 - died JAN 14, 1892 in San Jose, Mason Co. IL. married (1) William T. Coburn ( who died after enlisting in the Civil War) (2) MATTHEW MITCHELL was born Jan 8, 1835 in Ireland and died July 12, 1887 in Scioto Co. Ohio.

Matthew is listed as a voter in Jefferson Twp, Scioto Co. Ohio. He enlisted in the 91st Ohio Volunteer infantry Co. C Aug 4, 1862 and Mustered in Sep 7, 1862 at Camp Iroton, Ohio. He was a private and listed as age 25 years. - wounded on Sep 19, 1864 in the Battle of Opequan VA - mustered out on June 24, 1865.
