About Me

I am Jessica Chen, the first daughter of the Chen's family. My father, Jun Chen, was a famous professional photographer and cameraman originally from Shanghai. My mother, Renting Wang, was an accountant from Canton province in China.

I was born in Beijing, the capital of China, and was raised in Shanghai. Then I moved with my family to Beijing again permanently at the age of eleven. Influenced by the culture of both Shanghai and Beijing. I have a mixed characteristic from both the north and south traditions. I am opening minded, friendly, and always full of enthusiasm and energy.

After graduated from the local high school, I was enrolled into the Beijing Art Institute majored in Art and Design. I received my Associate Degree of Art and Design at the age of twenty. From there, I was concentrating in photography, videotape editing, filming and TV series directing. I have dedicated all my times in movie and television producing. I directed and edited special columns, news, and articles for daily national TV programs, such as the TV program of 1990 Asian Olympics with NHK TV Station of Japan. I also organized and supervised many stage performances and interviewed artists, economists, professors, and doctors for many TV series. Sometimes I even designed image brochures, advertisements for many companies. Those years were my harvest seasons. I was so excited about every new assignment and challenge, not because I became the inheritor of my father's profession but also because my dream came true.

Realizing that my acknowledgement and skills were not enough to achieve higher goals, I decided to study abroad and absorb more high technology and cutting edge experiences into my background. I came to the United States in 1994. Here I studied the computerized photography and graphics design. I am hoping to show the audiences a new world through art and new technology. I am still learning.
