Going Home Basket |
| |
I've found that this is a great way to make sure everything
makes it home, instead of ending up under a pile of stuff.
I bought a plastic basket at the dollar store and put
it in an easy to reach spot in the room. I put anything
that needs to go home in the basket as soon as I get it.
The kids can put things in it, too, as long as it has
their name on it. At the end of the day we clean out the
basket. This has worked really well! |

| Project and Lesson Materials |
| As simple as this sounds I have found that this really
keeps me organized and prepared. I bought a supply of
medium baskets at the dollar store that can stack inside
each other. When I am getting ready for a lesson or project
that requires materials, I put them in a basket. When
I'm ready for the lesson, everything is ready in one place.
I also bought small baskets for each table that I put
manipulatives in. When I need to hand them out, I can
just put a basket on the table and there is no wait time! |

Reading Group Materials |
| |
I used to have alot of trouble finding a place to
keep my materials for small group reading instruction.
I didn't want to put the table in front of the shelves
because that is where alot of our work station materials
are. One day in Target I came across the answer to my
problems! I found a hanging organizer that was meant
to go on the footboard of a child's bed. It has four
pockets, one for each reading group, that are large
enough to hold my notebook. I put it on the wall behind
the reading table and keep markers, paper, flashcards,
my notes and reading books in it. It works great!

Writing Materials |
| |
This organizer is a great way to keep all of our
writing materials tidy. I have bins for sharpened pencils,
unsharpened pencils, manila paper, DOL paper, dictionaries,
writing paper, white boards and white board accesories.
