I use the kids' names a lot in the beginning
of the year to introduce and review many concepts. We
begin by reading this book. In the past I have had the
students make dangling names to hang from the ceiling
after we read the book.
Phonics:
We graph the beginning sounds of everyone's
name. We also make a graph of the number of syllables
in each name.
Lang. Arts:
I use the kids name's to introduce the concept
of capitalization.
