Our Wedding II |
It was a magical day. We were among the pioneering couples in Belgium who took advantage of this law. Although the certificate was only valid in Antwerp and the Belgian state did not recognize such contracts until 2000, we supported the mayor of Antwerp in his fight for equality for all citizens. We refused to remain invisible. By signing that contract and having a public, civil ceremony, we let everyone know that we are everywhere and our relationship is as valid and as committed as anyone else's. |
