Hello out there in Netsville. I am a 46-year-old Christian husband and father of two wonderful children: of whom I am very proud. The purpose of this web site is to let the software development industry know that I am out here and looking for new challenges. I have posted my detailed resume on various job sites: MONSTER, HotJobs, etc. I also have a version linked to it below.
Visual Basic is my primary area of expertise; however, I also have a good bit of experience in C, C++, Clarion and FoxPro. I am in the process of learning both Java and .Net, as well. Inter-process and Inter-systems messaging and data interchange is my primary area of expertise with over 20 years of experience in those areas. My primary operating systems experience lies in the Microsoft Windows arena. I got started WAY BACK in 1982 on an Osbourne Executive Portable using M-Basic 80 (so basically I've been dealing with ol' Billy-Boy since he was working out of a trailer in back of the old KayPro plant in the desert).
Currently, I am working for Laboratory Corporation of America's Client Products Group as Lead Project Software Engineer. It is a living, but they do not pay very well. This is why I am out here looking (baby needs a new pair of shoes and all). Check out the resume, you will like what you see.
I have not published an article in a long time, not very much time with family life (and I do have a life BTW). The last time was back in the early 1990's for the old Clipper Magazine. I used to have it framed but it got lost some where in the move from Birmingham to Decatur/Huntsville (along with my daughter's baby doll, my son's volcano science project, and the cat's ball). Currently, I am mentoring the Austin High School Robotics team in embedded programming. There good kids and are the defending South Best Champions. They recently competed for the first time in the Peachtree Regionals of the InnovationFirst competition. The kids actually won the award for Leadership in Control Design by designing a movable front bumper that acted like a "pool cue", moving the balls around the field more easily.
Well that's all for now. If you want to know more, email me at address listed above or check out my resume.
