Welcome to Paper Heart, my paper crafting site!  Im a paper craft fanatic, and I love to share my passion.  My main hobbies are cardmaking, scrapbooking, and quilling.  If you would like to see some of my work, follow the links in the My Crafts section.  I also have one of my recent crafts in the "Featured Craft" section.  To learn more about me, see my craft room and organization, or find links to my published articles, scroll down the page.  Feel free to sign my guest book or send me an email using the links at the bottom of this page.  Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you come again to see the new crafts I will be adding periodically!
Then, at the beginning of 2003, I decided to try my hand at making cards.  Bingo!  I had finally found a craft that I not only enjoyed, but also had some talent for!
Just follow the links above to see my creations.  The Cardmaking page has links to most of my cards on it, separated into categories by occasion.  The Scrapbooking page has links to groups of layouts that go together, including mini albums I have made.  The Quilling and Other Crafts page has links to all of my quilling work and any other crafts I have made that dont fit into other categories.

I would like to note that while I have personally created all of the crafts shown on this website with my own two hands, not all of the ideas for them are my own.  While many of the crafts are entirely of my own design, I cannot claim the credit for others.  I have drawn inspiration from the work of many people, and I have even scraplifted entire designs on occasion.

About Me
I didnt think I had a bit of creative talent before I started paper crafting.  I tried dozens of crafts, but all of my creations looked worse than any youd find in a Kindergarten classroom!
I have written a couple of articles on paper crafts, which are published on the About.com Scrapbooking website.  If you are interested in reading them, follow the links below.
My Published Articles
This article answers common questions about quilling.  It explores supplies needed, quilling tips, storage and organization issues, and where to find ideas and inspiration.
This article explores ways to use pressed flowers in scrapbooking.  There are several examples of pressed flower embellishments that I made for the article.

Featured Craft
This is the right side of a two-page layout.  To see the other side, click on the photo above.

This photo is from a "professional" home photo shoot that my best friend and I set up at her apartment in May 2000.  Her mother (who has taken a photography class) took the photos at this "photo shoot".  This is one of my favorite shots of me, so I had it enlarged as a focal point.

Embellishments include torn patterned papers, metal photo corners, a square metal frame (with a quote and rose sticker), and a tiny metal circle frame (with the date).

Later that year, I got sucked into scrapbooking because the tools and techniques used are nearly the same as for cardmaking.  Quilling followed a little later, after I saw some beautiful quilling in a scrapbooking idea book and became intrigued with the technique.  Im very happy to have finally found my niche in the crafting world, even if it was late in coming!
My Craft Room
My craft room is nothing fancy, being more functional than aesthetically pleasing, but perhaps you would like to see where I do most of my creating.  There's one photo of the main part of the room shown here, and you can click the button above to see more photos and learn about how I've organized some of my crafting "stuff".
My name is Alison, but Im more widely known by the nickname Jinksy on the internet.  Im 28 years old and live in a small city in North-Central Illinois.  Im single and have no children, and Im currently pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education.
This article will teach you to plan out your scrapbooking layouts so that you will be able to scrapbook more quickly, whatever your style.
