1. Shape your eyebrows. Draw thin lines in the direction your brows grow to define and fill in light areas. (Tip: Do not draw an outline around brow as this give an unnatural look.) Apply highlight color to brow bone area from inner to outer eyebrow.
2. Use a very light shade and cover the entire lid, from lash line to brow. Make sure that you cover it with a thin layer since there is more to come. 3. Apply a slightly darker shade on the lower lid from the lash up a bit above the the crease of your eye. You're trying to go more for the inner corner of your eyes. 4. Apply the darkest shade mostly to the outer corners of the eyes. Blend into the medium contrast color. Again, from lash line to crease. 5. Always apply liquid liner after shadow application and allow to dry before applying mascara. (Look below for specific Mascara Application.) |

Mascara Application
If you use a lash curler, it is best to use it before you apply mascara. Squeeze lashes with the curler gently with even pressure. Hold for a few seconds. Release slowly. Apply mascara to the upper lashes using long, sweeping strokes. Begin as close to the lash root as possible. TIP: Do not pump it as this will cause air to get into your mascara tube and dry it out. Apply mascara to the lower lashes by holding the wand perpendicular to the eye and parallel to the lashes. Hold the wand horizontally, sweep on mascara from roots to ends. Roll the wand slightly as you move. Wiggle the wand slightly from side to side along the lashes to distribute mascara evenly. If necessary, use a tissue or Q-tip to wipe excess mascara off the brush before applying to the lower lashes. (If clumping occurs, carefully use an old, cleaned-up mascara wand or a lash comb to brush them out.) Repeat several times until you get the thickness and the length that you want. |

Pencil Liner
The desired effect of an eyeliner pencil is to create the illusion of darkness just above the lashline to enhance the look of the lashes. Gently pull the upper lid-skin and start at the inner part of the lid. Draw a thin line smoothly and evenly along the upper lid, getting as close to the lashes as possible. Once you have a line drawn closely to the lashes use the smudger end of the eyeliner pencil blend the line until there is no edge to soften it. The effect should be an even graduated color that is darker close to the lashes and becomes lighter and disappears as it rises higher. Tip: If pencil is freshly sharpened, soften tip by gently rolling it across the back of your hand. |

Liquid liner
Wipe the excess off when you pull the brush out of the tube. I find that if you wipe it on a clean piece of plastic, then when you need to re-load the bush, use the extra that was left on the plastic. It not only saves on the liner but you can control how much is on your brush. Extend the liner slightly past the corners of your eye for that cat look! |
