(TL): Apt bldg, Nuremberg/Feurth Rd, small arms hits  visible '49, WWII  sniper nest no doubt. (TR) Palace of Justice, Nurember where the trials were held. A weekly feature offered by Special Svcs, bus to Nuremberg & seat in spectator gallery to observe trials. By time I got there only small fish left, necktie parties all over. (BR) Grand Opera House, Kassel - took a pretty good pounding. (BL) View of old, walled city, Nuremberg. Story:  One of my buddies, Jack Kaufmann, Brooklyn, NY asked old lady (owner of apt bldg where we crashed from time to time, if she could make Matzo balls - "Ja Wohel Mein Herr, du gayen mit der ault Nuremberg", get fat goose (I just ran out of Kraut speak), I will make Matzo balls. Man, those New Yawkers (several more than Jack) thought they were living high - those city boys never had southern Chicken 'n Dumplins..
(TR,CW): Ancient Gate in wall of  city of Rotenberg.  Ornate entrance to the Burgomeisters (Mayor) office in Rathaus (City Hall). (B and U Left) Views of the interior of Rotenberg.  Tour guide, (US Army Special Service hostess, BTW, they were really fine young ladies. Most did not last long, got marriage proposal PDQ. In fact, my first roomie, Cpl Michales, NYC, (Uncle of Monday Nite Footballer announcer. Al) marriedd one of the ladies, lived in Nuremberg, so, lucky me, had private room, supposed to be two man, and he great guy paid his share of upkeep.
Figures in windows. Big Bad Baron and his Bully Boys sacked the town many centuries ago. Burgeomeister challenged Baron to drinking duel, Mayor win, Baron spare town - Mayor won, folks built monument, Baron, either good for his word or so drunk he never knew what hit him did spare the town - according to legend, good story - I like stories.  All photos of Rotenberg are comm'l. I did take some - one inside Rathaus won prize.
Tidbit of trivia from the tour guide,  American Special  Serviice Hostess:

Cupola on corner of bldg was for German  ladies to view  passerby w/o themselves   being viewed - those not so well off had mirrors (can not see them in photo),  mounted outside on wall much as rear view mirror of vehicle - , but after she mentioned them, they were seen - ladies could sit in their apt and view passerby on street without themselves being viewed,....
