On our way to Albuquerque we made a side trip to Abelene KS to see the Eisenhower Libruary. They were doing some work on it so part was closed, but it was still worth the trip. The setting in the park is beautiful.
The Eisenhower home is also in the park. We were surprised how small all the rooms were. It was hard to imagine mom, dad, and the five brothers all eating together in that small kitchen.
There was this picture of Ike and Mamie when they were married, hanging in the Museum.
We were surprised to learn that the Grayhound Hall of Fame is also in Abelene. We couldn't pass that up even though it ment staying an extra day. What the hey, we're retired.
When we walked into the building the first "person" we met was a retired Grayhound. One of two who act as greeters
