Pueblo El Mirage is a very nice resort. We had site 282 on Third St. While we were here they had a "3rd St Block party" and our site was right in the middle of the block. It was a great opportunity to meet all the neighbors. They blocked off both ends of the street, a potluck dinner was provided by the residents, and the music was provided by a neighborhood group of musicians. We had a ball!

While we were here we took a trip north to Lake Pleasant. On the way we passed this glider school. It might be a place to take a few lessons when we come back next year.

Lake Pleasant is beautiful. It's hard to believe how many large and beautiful lakes they have here in the middle of the desert. Lake Pleasant is a man made reservior. They pump water into it all winter from the Colorado River and then use that water all summer for irrigation. The lake was 93% full when we were there. While they drain it in the summer they use that water to drive generators to recuperate the power they used to drive the pumps to fill it. Now that's real conservation!!!

Between Wickenburg and a little town called "Nothing," just northwest of Phoenix, is the Joshua Forrest. I've been told that Joshua trees grow only in this part of the US and in Israel. As you can see they are a very unuasual tree.
